Why do some people in the USA act like the English language originated there?

While English did originate in what was England at the time, the American accent was the first “english” accent. The current English accent came about as a result of the upper class wanting to separate themselves from the lower class by speech alone, this also meant they refused to use “ain’t” as a word when the lower classes also caught on to using it even though it was once used as frequently as won’t and shan’t. So when you speak English in an American accent, that is the first English accent
