Anonymous(30-35)3 moAren't prices worldwide really high at the moment? Here in Australia unleaded and diesel aka regular gasoline and diesel are either at high prices (not yet astronomically high) and some stations are out (again not yet at crisis level outages)

Asker3 moYes, but here it’s due to trump. People were expecting $2 gas prices and they are coming to a hard realization that that wasn’t true.

3 moAbsolutely. Gas was $9/gallon under Biden so $5/gallon gas is a huge drop in price thanks to Cheeto Jesus. Or at least that's the logic and lie you can expect to hear from the MAGA trolls here on GAG.
Asker3 moFirst, let’s correct the record: gas NEVER hit $9/gallon under Biden. The actual national peak was around $5/gallon in June 2022 — driven by post-COVID demand and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, not Biden policy. You can verify this on the EIA (Energy Information Administration) government website. By late 2024, prices had already dropped back to $3-$3.50 before Trump even took office.
Now here’s what’s actually happening under Trump:
📌 PBS News (March 2026): Gas prices are spiking so badly they’re wiping out the tax refunds Trump promised. Economists say higher gas prices will cost consumers $70 BILLION this year — more than the $60 billion in tax refunds.
www.pbs.org/.../trump-touted-bigger-tax-refunds-but-higher-gas-prices-are-likely-to-eat-them-up
📌 ABC News: Trump’s tariffs on Canada and Mexico (our two biggest oil suppliers) are directly causing gas prices to rise. Experts predicted a 9-20 cent per gallon increase — and that’s exactly what happened.
abcnews.go.com/.../story?id=118399930
📌 CNN Business: Tariffs on energy imports hit consumers fast. States in the Midwest and Northeast that rely on Canadian crude saw some of the biggest jumps at the pump.
www.cnn.com/.../index.html
📌 Chatham House: Trump’s ‘drill baby drill’ has NOT lowered gas prices. Natural gas prices are projected to be 60% HIGHER in 2026 than in 2024.
www.chathamhouse.org/.../us-energy-prices-were-set-rise-long-iran-war
So Biden never caused $9 gas — that’s just a made-up number. And Trump’s cheap gas promise? It went the exact opposite direction. These aren’t opinions, these are economists, energy analysts, and multiple major news outlets all saying the same thing.- 3 mo
Wow you dumb. Or your reading comprehension is really low. You missed the whole part where I put forth a ridiculous lie as an example of MAGA logic and lies then went on to tell you it was just a comical example of MAGA propaganda.
Then you went on an hour long research adventure to prove a humorous comment wasn't true. Congratulations, you have just proven what everyone else already knew. My comment was not true. Nor was it intended to be serious. It was sarcasm. Apparently that is hard for you to pick up on.
Asker3 moSo your whole argument is built on lies, and when you get called out, you rebrand it as “sarcasm.” If you had actual facts on your side you wouldn’t need to hide behind jokes. 😄

3 moIt's estimated that it will take 3-5 years to rebuild oil and natural gas production in the middle east after the conflict is over so there won't be cheap gas for quite a while.
13 Reply- 3 mo
correct , if war ends today , we will suffer at least a year
- 3 mo
There is a 0% chance gas will be lower than it is right now in November. Even if it ends today, production is too low and there isn't enough reserve on hand to make a difference. If this goes on much longer it guarantees a spike in inflation and interest rate hikes this year. It shows how vulnerable the US is economically where Iran just needs to extend this to drive the US into recession. Trump wasn't thinking clearly by bombing Iran for Israel.

Trump is going to invade , so things are going to get worse

3 moi guess the earliest you can expect cheap gas prices is when they're done bombing iran. iran has oil. the americans are gonna loot it and all is gonna be good for them. history is repeating itself xD

@888theGreat one wouldn't need to take other countries shit, if one wouldn't waste so much money and live on borrowed shit. but i guess that works as long as you still have the strongest military on the planet. which given the spending habits of the us government won't last for long.
- 3 mo
We won't be by the end of this war. China will be. China never uses none their war machine and they keep adding to it. It will take years for US to rebuild up weapons.

3 moYet, yes in 2023 when democratic feared losing, to trump! they changed policy and cheap gas price came thanks to trump. If they didn't fear losing, it would keep rising 5$ 6 7 etc.

Gas hit $5/gallon in 2022 My gas is currently $3.65
19 Reply
Asker3 moThat $3.65 is already old news. The national average just jumped $1 in ONE month and is now nearly $4/gallon according to AAA. Trump promised $2 gas. And that 2022 price you mentioned was the national PEAK, the highest gas has ever been (due to Covid). We’re heading back toward that, not away from it.
You can verify this on the EIA (Energy Information Administration) government website.
Asker3 moYou’re right. We’re actually getting closer to that $5 peak, the highest it’s ever been.
Asker3 moHere it’s actually 6, it’s more.
Asker3 moAt least I can afford it and don’t need to depend on a president to lower gas prices for me (which he didn’t even do) 😁 $6 is higher than $5 by the way
- 3 mo
The same prices under Biden was a different thing. 🤪

3 moup to $4 national average , heading to$9
01 Reply- 3 mo
With the damage done to oil infrastructure in Middle East , and Iran charging fees to use strait , and US unable to process our own oil, and with Venez soon to tell Trump to kiss their ass, and with Russia doing things that might get sanctions back on, you won't see Gas below $3 in at least 2 years maybe more. I think gas here will reach $9 a gallon and our high with Biden was $5.27 .
Maybe if US has a depression (very likely) Gas will be $1.25 in less than two years. Economy is on the brink. High Prices, Inflation , Gas high, Layoffs high, unemployment going up, Wars, Banks in trouble, possible DOW collapse, Possible Housing crash.
Maybe a Depression is what we need to reset the prices of everything. The problem is high inflation drains people from all their money and then a depression causes prices to drop but no one has any money or jobs to buy anything. Like green beans 25 cents a can.
