Do people worship themselves?

Like we live in a society were people are becoming inhumane to the point where its just about them and nothing else. There is no happiness or love in your life its just all about you.

It seems that way at times. I guess social media has kind of enabled people to be self-obsessed to a degree. They post all kinds of content of themselves just looking in the mirror or the camera, and smiling about how beautiful they are, and how great their clothes are. They even compliment themselves, lol. Back in the old days that behavior would've been really uncool. That would've been seen as arrogant, concieted, and cringey. In 2026 it's just normal for people to worship themselves I guess.

I don't think this was 500 or 1000 years back different. People went to churches and after murdered, raped, robbed, bullied each other and glorified themselves like they do today.
This is human nature.
