I disagree with you on the title and on the presumption that Europe is basically socialist and communist. Europe is experiencing a shift towards the right, with centre-right and far-right parties in Germany, France and Italy. Spain is moving towards the right in all recent regional elections and the polls for the upcoming national elections in 2027 (or possibly sooner) are not looking good for the current government. The political landscape in general is conservative, anti-immigration and nationalist.

As for communist parties, they are marginal at best, with the exception of Cyprus: Cyprus 22 %, Greece 7 %, Belgium 9 %, Spain 0.07%. What communist Europe are you taling about?

Part of me agrees with that and another part of me sees that the US has been shockingly ineffective when it comes to doing good.
Sure, we got Maduro. Sure, we're freeing Iranians. Sure, we fought GWOT. But what's come of that? Mexico is still sitting on our border and overrun by cartels, with a cartel-backed leader. Canada is using US funding to recruit service members from foreign militaries that have vowed to destroy the US. Maybe I'm a jaded pessimist, but I look at the US and I just keep thinking about the Roman Empire shortly before it's collapse began. Shockingly powerful, very experienced, with advanced technology and techniques, but spreading themselves thinner and thinner.

Exactly. Prices have always been much higher than in the US. The current blockade has intensified this, but is not the root cause. Trump demands that the strait of Hormuz be opened for maritime traffic. As he can't enforce it, now he wants to block the strait himself.

@RingOfFire yes we have higher taxes, but you also get something back for it. Those fuel taxes go e. g. into better infrastructure, public transport and other things that the US is lacking. Also Europe is dependent on gas imports, that automatically makes stuff more expensive.
We also pay more social contributions, but we have e. g. cheap and affordable healthcare for everyone and stable pensions etc. You don't need to like the European system. But if you do a comparison, do a proper one and don't just blindly repeat right wing propaganda bs. Everything has their pros and cons.

How much does it cost to give birth to a child in a European hospital? Zero euros. Nothing. How much does it cost to give birth to a child in the US?
