If I could rename our planet, I’d call it “Aurea”.
It comes from the idea of light, warmth, and life, because Earth is the only known place where everything we see, from oceans to forests to people, is shaped by living energy and constant change. “Aurea” feels like it captures that sense of beauty and balance without sounding too technical or ordinary.

Tellus.

Tellus is the Latin name for Earth.
Luna is the Latin name for the Moon.

Back to the 1970s, I was reading popular astronomy books...
In one book, there was a discussion of what name should be given to Earth if it had a Latin or Roman god name like the other planets. The name suggested was Tellus Luna because the Earth-Moon system is effectively a double planet; of all the planets in our solar system, no natural satellite (aka "moon") is as relatively large to its planet as our Moon is to Earth. So, Tellus would be for Earth and Luna for the Moon.

  @DryGermanGuy In this context - planet naming after Roman gods - Tellus is more appropriate.
  
  Tellus is primarily the name of the ancient Roman deity. She represents the Earth as a living, fertile goddess of agriculture, growth, and marriage. Terra is the literal, physical material of the earth. It refers to the soil, the ground, or dry land as opposed to the sea. Over time, Terra also became a personified goddess, eventually merging roles with Tellus.

yes! 'earth' is a very stupid name! maybe 500 years ago they thought planets are fires, not rocks! we were the only 'rock earth'. but now we know those are also dirt! our planet is the one with LOTS OF WATER. it Should name it "blue water' or 'sea world' not earth!

I used AI to help come up with something representing both land and water. It generated many names, but I liked this the most:

Nerigaia – Nereus (sea god) + Gaia. A goddess of shoreline, where land and ocean cradle life.
