Which deal is better: JCPOA v MOU?

The JCPOA was obviously better. Iran had signed the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) and was in full cooperation with inspections. Plus, the Ayatollah had banned the development of nuclear weapons for moral reasons.
I don't know why Iran was considered any kind of problem aside from the fact that Israel had a blood liable against it for opposing Israeli expansionism, racism, brutality and genocide. And Iran gave support to those who defended against Israel. Therefore, Israel wanted to destroy Iran, initiated many cowardly attacks, and tried for decades to get U. S. help in its endeavors by telling lies about nukes.
The only way there will ever be peace in the region is to cut all funds, arms and support to Israel and let if fend for itself. It would be a sitting duck against Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran and Yemen. if it continued its belligerence against Palestinians and Lebanese. Israel is a pipsqueak without U. S. backing, yet it continually does what it pleases and tells the U. S. to fuck off.
Israel needs to suffer the same fate as Nazi Germany.
As I wrote before, Trump couldn’t negotiate himself out of a fucking paperbag. 🤦♂️
Iran has closed the Strait of Hormuz this afternoon. What an embarrassing humiliation for Trump yet again lol
The one of the left is obviously better for the United States just from looking at basic numbers.
@strateguy632 The backlash against Trump is overwhelming! He's losing his shit over it! 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂

does anyone actually believe there is a deal? A deal to talk about a deal in hopes of a deal.
there's an election and global meltdown on the target. he needs a win. the win is to say there is a win. oil goes down temporary... a win, he can stand next to graves and say we won on our 250th... a win... for some. It's all BS all the time, temporary.
if you look at the markets, do you actually beleive anyone uses their brains making rational decisions? That takes a lot of faith to think most voters think. is iran getting 25 billion and what they do with it... buy more missiles and drones at minimum?
the old deal appeared to fail becaus didn't they have more enrichment and approach a bomb? so this one is better in that it defers the problem... a can kick so to speak.
@lightbulb27 it's sickening because US and Israel were decisively winning the war. Trump then calls a ceasefire and negotiates a terrible MOU. I went from liking him to absolutely despising him.
@FrodoSkywalker007 I don't buy they were winning anything, how he going to finish it? It only ends by negotiation. Not gonna go in and take all thsoe guys out or fight for years doing so. I don't think the prez agrees with you. he was standing on the cusp of sending in troops to an island. they'd get slaughtered as stationary targets, at minimum be under high threat. Not good politically.
I think you are wrong... but there are different views.
There military infrastructure was cut down to a degree of 1 trillion. Their leadership was cut down 3 levels. Their navy was destroyed outside of speedboats. Their air force couldn't play a role. Their missile capacity was cut significantly. Their proxies were cut down and even the houthis were too afraid to get involved. The issue was Trump wanted it quickly without ground troops, and low casualties. Defeating the Iraq military on both 1991 and 2003 took about 200 deaths each invasion. The blockade was forcing Iran into hyperinflation. Trump simply chickened out. Iran took advantage and stretched the talks. Trump gave concessions to get something resembling a deal. It's a sad reality. He's a coward.
The issue here is the horrible optics of the MOU. It gives Iran a massive propaganda victory. If it becomes official (I doubt it), it will be a major strategic victory for Iran. Trump has to either return to war and finish the job, or accept there is no deal. He made some very bad decisions
@FrodoSkywalker007. This all presupposes that Iran was the bad guy when, in fact, the only rabid dog in the region is Israel.
@FrodoSkywalker007 Do you see Iran attacking Israel/USA when strong enough, with nuclear missiles? That be the risk.
When they are extreme thinking, obtain the power (possibly using billions of $ given to them like Trump said they did with the Obama $), and consider us "The Great Satan"... and they can hide in their vast mountain lands a long time and choak the world... would they?
I don't see that he had another political move in my view. But is it over... of course not, nothing is agreed to, there's no "peace".
That leads to the question... where do you move to be most safe...
Considering they burn flags of the US and chant death to America in their parliament. Yes, obviously that is the goal.

The answer is obvious.
The paint is coming off the reflecting pool, it's full of algae, and Trump's saying it's crystal clear.
That wet, warm feeling on your leg when you're around him? It's not rain.
wow you left out the important part. enforcing the agreement. obama got words from iran. but trump arranged details in section 8 +12! if iran gets caught sending money or weapons to hezbollah... the cease fire ends. if iran keeps its deal then trump tried to get peace in middle east. quite a legacy. if iran does't then no deal.
also i don't see anything about tolls? status quo means international shipping lanes?
Trump just admitted at the G7 to reporters that he was motivated to end the economic strain on the global economy. He didn't want to be blamed for that. The details show Trump's weak position.
your equation doesn't make any sense. global economy is Europe weakness. NOT trump weakness. agreeing showed trump is an expert at deals as we knew all along before all the bad mouthing by sore loser democrats!
Sorry that MAGATS can't handle the truth of a global economy. Trump and his billionaire friends love it! Next time you go to Walmart, check where stuff comes from! 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
As it stands. JCPOA. Trump took a military success and turned it into a negotiating disaster. His legacy is that of failure.
maybe you have not read section 8?
@strateguy632 feel free to explain. Because, I supported this war and am disgusted by Trumps peace talks. It's like defeating Hitler and then paying him off
look at section 8+12 "The Islamic Republic of Iran reaffirms that it shall not procure or develop nuclear weapons.' win #1.
"United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran have agreed to resolve the disposition of stockpile enriched material pursuant to a mechanism that will be mutually agreed upon in accordance with the schedule mentioned in Paragraph 7 with the minimum methodology to be downblending on site under the supervision of the IAEA" win #2.
if iran lied then no deal.
i think downblend means lower quality from "weapon grade level" to atomic power type?
@strateguy632 so in return we give they are given over 300 billion? And billions of unfrozen assets? And control over hormuz after 60 days? (Read that one carefully, it implies they control the waterway, which is against international law). The deal is an Iraniran wet dream. They won't agree the Nuclear deal. Trump lost his cards when removing the blockade, and to return is political suicide. He screwed up badly. Please recognize this harms the free world. We will suffer if this is negotiated as is.
@strateguy632 please understand if this is accepted as written, Iran receives far more than they ever did under JCPOA. To make matters worse, there is currently no standard to oversee this. It took years for the JCPOA, Trump won't figure it out in 2 months. There is a good chance Trump. has just assured Iran will get a nuclear weapon.
Trump is so delusional he's probably the only person on earth thinking his is better.
The problem with the JCPOU is that the so called oversight was a joke. Iran would have unloaded a nuke years ago.
Wait! Didn't Trump claim last August that Iran's capacity to make nukes was "obliterated"? Or was Trump lying then or now?
So, when between the cancellation in 2018 and now did Iran "build a nuke"?
The MOU is not a treaty. It is only a draft.
@FrodoSkywalker007 I am not in lock step with President Trump. This proposed outcome is disturbing. It reminds me of the failed land for peace deal regarding Gaza and "palestinians". My belief is that Iran will be unable and unwilling keep their heads down long enough to sign a hard deal and will violate it almost immediately. I hope they don't make it 60 days and we go in and finish the job.
Agreed
