I got a taste of this a long time ago. For a brief time in my life I was a local celebrity. I was an up and coming MMA fighter and I was in a lot of commercial, magazines, etc. I was even on a billboard one time. Had people saying hello to me and calling my name even though I never met them before.
I wasn’t ever a popular kid in HS. TBH I didn’t know how to handle attention. Even though it was positive it just felt weird. I felt like I had to maintain a cool image people saw me as. Didn’t want to disappoint someone.
Anyway I can’t help wonder what it would be like for someone who is a major celebrity, politician, etc. I guess if you love attention…. great. But the bigger you get the bigger chance someone is going to hate you justified or not. I guess you just grow a thick skin over time.

I don't care if people hate me. I've made it to high success when everyone said I was going to be a loser.
And now people show me respect but they are mostly fake. They talked down on me when I had nothing. Those people that hate you were always going to hate you hate even without the fame.
Now they constantly want to check in on me. Invite me over mostly to ask questions on what I am doing and to gossip about me behind my back. They're nosey and assholes.
I wouldn't worry about them. They wouldn't care if you died the next day. They give you nothing but hurtful words say you stay down, but when you got success they want to talk to you only to be nosey.
wealth is not worth fame.
