I know a lot of people only see the danger in what they did, and I completely understand why. It was incredibly risky, and if something had gone wrong, it could've put other people in danger too 😒

But I also couldn't help thinking about the message they chose to leave behind 🥰🥰 "When the power of love beats the love of power, the world knows peace." Whether you agree with the stunt or not, I actually thought that was a beautiful message. In a world that feels so divided lately, seeing them use such an iconic place to spread something positive instead of hate or politics was interesting to me. Then ending it with a proposal made the whole thing feel even more symbolic.

That said, they did break the law, and I understand why they're facing charges

What was your first reaction when you saw the whole thing and should they face charges? 🤔

They should definitely face charges. They circumvented the law. It’s possible to hold a demonstration to promote your inspiring message without risking people’s lives and livelihoods as well as someone’s insurance rating. If they were willing to sign a waiver and pay for the insurance rider, they almost certainly could have done the exact same thing with far less risk and no negative consequences.
Unfortunately we are in an age of entitled jerks who don’t think about anyone but themselves. So what these jerks actually inspired is more idiots and *ssholes to do more of this crap. They should be ashamed, but they almost certainly won’t be.

These damn idiots put first responders at risk and if there was a powerful gust of wind one or both of them could have fallen and landed in pedestrians down below. I do not think that they should do the maximum sentence of 7 years but I think a year in jail would teach them a lesson. Maybe they could even get married in jail.

My first thought? It was a dumb stunt by a couple of internet addicted attention whores. Do they deserve jail time? No. Sentence them to pick up trash on the streets of Mid Town Manhattan for 3 months. That should give them time to reflect on their need for fame.
