Couple took graphic pictures in front of St. Basil's Cathedral to become famous on TikTok. They were sentenced to 10 months in prison! Do you think that's the right decision?

This is insane. For all these stupid-ass f*cking Americans trying to talk about how bad and "racist" the US is, just take a look at what happens in the rest of the world. I don't know much about Russia other than the government supposedly sucks (but that's true of most of the world), but ten months for this? That's insane!
Even after seeing the "real" photo shown in the comments, I still think ten months was insane. Two weeks in jail would've been punishment enough, even in a country that doesn't have free speech. And the two OnlyFans sluts who did similar things only got a small fine, where as these two got ten months for it. (I wonder if a male being involved this time was why the punishment was so high?)
Poor Asya Akimova. She lost her job thanks to TikTok and her TikToker boyfriend. I just feel sorry for them. They should move to the West, where stupidity like this is REWARDED, not punished. Thanks to @N192K001 for the extra context.
Thanks, but you are too kind. @ChrisMaster69 & an Anonymous user added missing context before me, so pass the credit to them.
In my case, I personally & my birthplace (the Philippines since 2016) have been victimized by similar, mostly-true, but context-missing reports. So, I take such incidences personally (even if aimed at others) and try to counter them, if I know there are problems with the report.
Ok i read other replies that say that they are arrested for posing in a sexual way. I understand but I still think this is a ridiculous reason for arresting someone when rapists, pedos etc. are outside. The prisons are already full and police should care about serious crimes. A 15 years old girl got gang raped in a german city (Hamburg) and the rapists are still outside although there are dna evidences (sperma traces), video proof etc. A minor was almost raped where i lived. 13 years old girl was raped in my country by refugees but some of the criminals managed to escape the country and are now in england.
Then police can't/dont anything when someone get stalked etc in my experience. So i am really done when such people get arrested. Just deport them but dont waste your time on these ridiculous things. Do people really care more about their religous feelings more than their safety? As i said the prisons are full and many dangerous criminals are outside but we care about this? I dont pay taxes for prisons in order to lock up idiotic but harmless people.
You pack your P’s and Q’s when visiting certain countries.
Do parents just not teach the 101's of basic mannerisms anymore?
@SlightlyEccentric It does make you wonder.
Never let the truth get in the way of a question.

This is one of the reasons they were jailed. First rule in Russia don’t fuck about, they look you up and don’t have any keys to lose.
I'm not entirely sure why anyone with a sane mind would pose like this in normal circumstances.
The first picture spurred me to consider looking for a law preventing you taking photos of the building but before I did that I scrolled down to see this.
I'm so disgusted that they'd do this full stop I don't even care.
The religious building doesn't even factor in for me anymore.
My question is, Wtf do they think they are?

You missed this part:
"Ruslan Bobiyev, an internet prankster from ex-Soviet Tajikistan, stirred outrage last month with the photo of himself standing in front of St. Basil’s with his girlfriend Anastasia Chistova simulating oral sex while crouched in front of him in a police uniform."
So, yeah: they were pantomiming a blowjob in front of a religious building in another country. According to Russia, that is a crime. The fact that they were tourists is irrelevant. They broke the law of the host country, and were punished for it.
I fail to see the problem, here.
The story says:
https://www.themoscowtimes.com/2021/10/29/russia-sentences-blogging-couple-to-prison-for-x-rated-cathedral-photo-op-a75446
''A Moscow court has sentenced two bloggers to nearly a year in prison for staging an X-rated photoshoot across from St. Basil’s Cathedral near the Kremlin, the state-run TASS news agency reported Friday.
Ruslan Bobiyev, an internet prankster from ex-Soviet Tajikistan, stirred outrage last month with the photo of himself standing in front of St. Basil’s with his girlfriend Anastasia Chistova simulating oral sex while crouched in front of him in a police uniform.''
There you go. Context is everything. If they were just posing as tourists in a touristy photoshoot, nobody would have minded.
She performed faked oral sex on him while wearing an uniform. I can't read it but I think this is a police jacket. What did they expect?
She will be fired and loses all police privileges, like earlier pension. He will raped by Russian inmates and deported. Illegal immigration doesn't work in mother Russia.
Dude, that's not the problematic picture. This is, with the result edited in:

https://www.rt.com/russia/538856-blogger-sentence-photo-cathedral/
They posted a picture simulating oral-sex, while she was in police-uniform. It's written right there on her jacket: ПОЛИЦИЯ ("POLITSIYA"; "po-LEET-see-yah"; 「POLICE」).
Can you imagine if a female-cop in any other country did the same while in uniform?
Also, that's not the only case. People seem to be doing similar things across Russia.
www.rt.com/russia/539236-rita-fox-sentenced-jail/
www.rt.com/.../
@MCheetah Good question. I searched the English reports from Russian state-medias R. T., Sputnik, and T. A. S. S Some mention the inscription on her jacket. None mention her actually being an officer. If it's hers or borrowed, retired or current, or authentic or costume is not mentioned either.
I'm not sure whether costumes of police are even legal there, considering how a Russian car-enthusiast got in trouble in Russia with actual law-enforcement for making his civilian car look like Mexican police-car.
www.rt.com/.../
But then again, no mention of charges of impersonating police, either. Intricacies in their laws and/or other non-reported facts on the ground, I guess?
People should respect the laws and morals of the country they are visiting. The biggest issue with humanity these days and the newer generations specifically is not expecting any consequences for their actions. Just because you don't see something as a wrong, doesn't mean you should do it, if the laws or morals of the location do deem it wrong or inappropriate. Also breaking rules just for popularity sake and attention seeking is just pathetic. Our world runs on a modicum of respect for our fellow humans, and that seems to be breaking down these days because of self entitled morons.
Forget Russia, it could have just as easily been any other country the point still stands.
Yes people have rights it's just that some think they have more than others.
Foreigners dont get free passes for being tourists. You dont get some special status and aren't above the locals. You go to someone else's house you respect their rules. You are a GUEST and nothing more. You are their to learn and to respect, not trample on their ways. Don't like it? Don't travel, simple.
Well said!
Seriously? Just for taking a picture? Wow, that is so not right
Actually, it's worse than what was posted here. (See my post for more details.)
She's a cop (as is written on her jacket), but the problem-picture (not posted by the original-poster) had her kneeling and simulating oral-sex with her uniform-jacket clearly seen, while in front of a church.
Yeah the Russian police don't fuck around. Piss them off and you're gonna have a really bad day.
@SlightlyEccentric Maybe they need to smoke some weed and calm down
I think that when people who go over to other countries they need to do their damn research on the culture and laws. They might have not deserved this over a picture but at the same time its a lesson for them to learn and I dont feel too bad about it because it just shows a lot of ignorance in their part.
Seems a bit overreaction. Then again it's Russia. And this motherfucker is some Central Asian trying to slur Russian culture.
It's more a political thing, Russia is a mess in any sort of legislationary actions. And current government is based on nationalism and being the protector of Russian pride, so no way they'll allow all this, especially since the guy is from Tajikistan.
This isn't western world.
This was the reason by the way
I think Russia should turn western
They went to another country and broked the law so yeah. Ifg you visdit somewhere it is common knowledge to look up the laws and etiquette. They wer so focused on going viral, that they couldn't be respectful. Social media is ruining lives.
I see nothing wrong with taking pictures in front of a church. Not morally wrong and certainly not criminally wrong.
It is a pants but not a modest pants, the whole shape of her bum is revealed as if she's wearing nothing on it...
Well by law 614 of the orthodox church diocese of Moscow he should definitely be arrested for that Lincoln beard and she should be arrested for her taste in men - and they got only 10 months for it their lawyer must have gotten them some super plea deal
Apparently the picture they were arrested for is where she is squatting and pretending to give him a BJ.
Well, as much as I think the punishment is too much for this, I also do not have any smpathy for them. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Simple as that. At least they achieved their goal of their 5 minutes of e-fame.
Yea if they broke a law. There's laws like that in South Korea or something. Different countries have different rules.
@iseekpinetrees blasphemy laws are ridiculous! Not everyone in the world believes in Christianity.
Not everyone in the world feels its necessary or proper to take pictures of everything you see.
Not taking pictures of landmarks is a pretty weak argument against being forced to follow laws about a religion you don't believe in. Makes me happy I live in the USA
I agree with the sentence, in fact I think people like them should be sent to the Siberian mines regardless of where they take their photo.
I'm very surprised that there's a law about that in Russia.
I also think people who do stuff in the name of internet fame are dumber than a box of rocks, so part of me wants to laugh at the notion.
There's actually much more to it than that. The unincluded, but important details in my reply.
That's not the problem-photo. In the actual picture that got them in trouble, she's kneeling in front of him to simulate oral-sex, while wearing police uniform-jacket, in front of a church.
LOL! They said they were doing it for popularity? Honestly, the things young people will do in order to get other people's approval is hilarious and sad. We really are raising a generation who are truly so desperate for validation and 'being seen' by people they don't even know. Whether it's insecurity or narcissism, I don't know. But anything for a like, right? Thanks social media.
It was 10 days.
https://www.mcezone.com/couple-take-vulgar-picture-in-front-of-world-famous-church-goes-viral-on-social-media/
Months. Days. They’re pretty much interchangeable
@Mangospacho 😌
Too many idiots do things to impress people on Tik Tok and sometimes people lose their lives because of it. Now they can be famous in prison.
it was dumb to send them to prison over a picture, even if it was against the law. christans will find anything to make people who aren't at their standards look bad even though they aren't too good themselves.
Muslims or North Koreans would have killed then for it. So yeah turn Christians into the bad ones.
I know they aren't always angry people. It's the "radical" Islam that is like that. Same with every religions.
The Orthodox branch is basically the radicals of Christianity.
@Richardceorl1 I don't know who they are but FUCK ORTHODOX CHRISTIANS! Fucking filth! I remember a time when the people of Russia would burn Christians alive for sport! Ahhh the good ole days.
@Richardceorl1 also Blasphemy laws are ridiculous. Not everyone in the world believes in Christianity.
Tiktok is cancer! Like people are goanna remember all these Tiktok Elon musk in 5 years, just that clown who puts salt on stakes like a retared and catch me outside how about that.
Have had their quick 15 minute fame and went back to being a no body.
That’s why people like Bruce Lee / tony Robbins will always be remembered
Yeah. As ass that flat and beard like that, posing next to a church like it's what people want to see... They got off easy.
No surprise that we apes take our dogmatic ideologies very seriously! But nah, I don't think it's morally right to lock people up for something like that. But ape gonna do when other ape more powerful?
i guess they shouldn't have been simulating oral sex in some of the pictures they took there. Classless. Of course I'm bias, I think everyone taking disrespectful pictures for social media fame should be jailed.
How about don't break laws in other countries...
What is the law though?
I wouldn't have known that was illegal.
Nevermind. I see the other comments.
@Subarugirl well said miss subaru girl, nothing wrong in the photo except the girl's bum appearing as if she's wearing nothing, if she wants to appear like that, she can do it at home for her husband and not in public and in front of religious places...
@TonyMetal___86 actually they got into trouble for simulating oral sex infront of a church
Really? Than they really deserved what happened to them
Absolutely incorrect, as the country touts itself as a democracy. Being punished for transgressing 'laws' that are not even held as laws by the Government is a joke, but, indicative of the true nature of power in that country.
Yes, right decision. I read an article in the news that this woman gives oral sex to this man. Why do people disrespect their religion so much? These people will almost even make "shit eating at the toilet challenge videos" to become famous. As a non-christian, it's really rude to pose sexually in front of the cathedral.
Yes because they deliberatly defiled a church and offened the culture and customs for fame...
They deserve it
People getting arrested for hurting someone's fee fees, fuck, it's a day that ends in a y.
@N192K001 I know, I've seen the photo, I still don't give a damn. The only thing hurt due to the photo were the oh so precious feelings of grown babies and snowflakes. And to make things actually worse, those grown babies and snowflakes are in charge in that shithole and free speech is nonexistent. Someone pretending to do an act or wearing a particular uniform should not be crimes.
A hefty fine would have been more than enough, 10 months of prison is absurd but i am sure they'll be able to get out after the situation cools down a bit.
Where are the lame SJW's to complain they're human so it's ok for them to go to other countries and break laws & infact the Russia Government should pay them 450k just for imprisoning them and seperateing them from their families?
Nope
https://www. girlsaskguys. com/girlsaskguys/q4664671-how-does-she-look? utm_source=dynamic&utm_medium=androidapp&utm_campaign=question&utm_content=q4664671
That's not what happened so... Dunno what your on about. And what actually happened and the sentence for it was fair.
Just that only can't be the full story.
Anyway - people who want to be ''famous'' on TIK-TOK can't be quite right in their heads.
Fuuuuck religion. It destroys lives more than anything. Freakin cults controlling people still to this day, blows my mind. I hope in the future it doesn't exist. Or planet earth 🌎 should be our only religion.
Totally.
They are a bad match on top of it.
If it was a marriage photo, why not?
Distasteful - yeah, punishment (I'd make them work, not get free food and heating)
One more thing - the root cause of all crime are abortions. Once you are given permission to murder a baby unborn, property theft becomes a distant second concern.
This is also the root cause of the Russian predicament and disagreement with the west (that, granted, they are trying to fix) - the Soviet Union, communism, obliged people to have sex as commodity with whoever asked/requested.
Then they'd abort, and property simply was considered irrelevant/shared meaninglessly, leading to that union's first moral and spiritual, then economic and organisational, collapse.
America, the west, should get off of that path.
Muslim countries, poor as they are, hold it together by not murdering unborn babies, so they do not feel any guilt over such horror being a mainstream/popular opinion and practice.
It is Russia.

c
I do think it's slightly unfair however rules are rules. If you're going to a different country you should research the rules and culture.
They should have received 5 years for being so fken stupid no 1 , and another 5 years for using Tik Tok full stop.
This is what you get for being in a country that doesn't respect freedom of speech. Most European countries are getting like Russia believe it nor not.
they posted another pic that was really disrespectful from what i just found in my research.
hey play stupid games and you get stupid prizes.
Whether I think they should have gotten the sentence highly depends on if they knew this was the legal status quo and if they knew they could go to prison.
Ridiculous. A good reason to not visit Russia any time soon.
This is stupid
Even China is more lenient than stupid “mother in law” Russia. In Nihao I trust
No, I was in both countries and I am in contact with people from both countries, China is unfortunately worse. When Nixon called the USSR a slave state in its ultimate development, he described today's China. In China they arrest tourists for "Free Tibet" T-shirts, sterilize Uighur women and censor every single line people write on the "Chinese internet".
Good. TikTok folks need to starting understanding consequences for actions.
I was going to say no they do not deserve prison until I read the part about being famous on TikTok. I would give them 10 years, just for stupidity.
That's not the pic that sent them to jail, you liar. They simulated sex in front of the church. The laws they infringed are an excellent way to weed out those retarded narcissists from society.
That's wrong. But that's russia and that's how blasphemy/hate speech laws are used.
I always have said I would never be Putin's mistress even. You don't mess around in Russia. It is unfair but that's life.
It was the right decision. They reached their goal, they're famous now.
But in a bad way miss josy, the girl's bum appears as if she's wearing nothing, no disciplines...
That's Russia for you.
for all the Americans out there complaining about their own country, feel free to move to Russia and deal with these types of threat. Hope you love dictatorship and censorship and inhumanly low salaries and grumpy babushkas.
Trump took a photo in front of a church with a bible, after he just used the guard to pepper spray or whatever it was, peaceful protestors.
Trump, should be in jail
lol, i also saw a picture of a girl who took a picture in front of a casket, just because she wanted to become famous for whatever it was
I was like, really?
There is nothing wrong with that photograph.
There must surely be more to that story.
It is Russia, one of the worst countries out there.
@NorthwestRider
I disagree about Russia.
Russia may be the only hope for a remnant of Western Civilisation and the white race to survive.
The West is descending into the Marxist nightmare from which the Russian people began to free themselves 30 years ago.
Russia is one of the poorest backwards countries that hates freedom and free speech
Russia is poor because it had a 72 year Marxist nightmare of mismanagement, corruption and mass murder.
Considering the low base from which modern Russia began, the current regime has done well in terms of economic growth and standard of living.
One clear sign that things were improving was when food began to appear in shops after Marx’s “workers’ paradise” imploded.
As for freedoms, Russians are considerably more free than US citizens and my fellow Australians are at this time.
The people who are arrested in modern Russia are sexual degenerates and other socially corrosive elements, such as the Feminist loons of Pussy Riot.
The Russians know what Feminism is about, because it was created by Communists as one facet of a much larger plan to destroy Western Civilisation.
She can park that ass wherever she wants to, in my opinion.
Russia is such a backwards trashy country. I hope someday Russia becomes more westernized and more pro freedom
Is Russia full of snowflakes
The real pic, I agree is in very poor taste. But still there's a considerable distance from the church.
What surprises me is Russia, a socialist country caring about religious feelings. Wow😍
He should be given a prison sentence for his stupid social media job.
The only thing I'm in shock about is why she's with that guy lol I hope it's her brother 😂
Cool. It makes me feel good that prison is still be used to lock up real pieces of shit and not just people doing drugs
