What past. When humans were still an agrarian society and farming was the way most of society survived, kids were a free labor force for the family farm. More kids = more land that could be worked. And 3 generations could exist together. The kids took care of the grandparents and parents as they aged.
Oh, and there were no contraceptives. People didn’t know the pull out method. There wasn’t a whole heck of a lot to do after the sun went down. Etc.
Kids used to bring value... you basically were getting richer with the more you had because they help with the work.
Hard to compare to now where everyone works for someone the rest of the family probably never met. School was made manditory, but summer is still off for them to help with the harvest... no harvest? ... now it just costs more money and time huh?
The drop from the nuculer family to what it is now has more to do with feminism and the money losing value.
My grandma parents had 11 or 12 kids being poor people and I think it was because it was just the culture and birth control wasn't a thing back then.
It was just work, eat, sex and sleep as there wasn't much to do to entertain yourself back then.
Because they were peasants and saw kids as a kind of investment, not individuals. Uneducated families are still like this, having a kid is like owning a chicken for them.
@kvass Chicken, LOL!
🤣🤣🤣
More working hands was the way to get financial stability. Also daughters was expensive so dowery was a thing. Here's a cow and a pig get her away from my lot.
The many sons needed as many wife's too.
1. They had no contraception except Vatican Roulette.
2. Fucking was all they had. No radio, TV or internet.
3. The life expectancy of children was low. My great grandfather was one of 23(!) children. 6 made it to adulthood. Influenza.
No protection in sex.
Yeah but don’t you think it’s dumb to have 10 or more kids with no money or anything?
@asker when they horny they forget the dumbness. LOL
I think that the dumbest and most selfish thing you can do
@asker and they have funny moral not to abort if unwanted. LOL
I’ll never understand the older generation and yet they make the younger generation seem like trash
