Is Islam truly a threat to the Western world, or is it misunderstood?

Islam doesn't tolerate any other beliefs, it can't coexist with other ideologies and religions. The essence of western world is political and social competition but Islam comes here with total escalation of terror and murder, this makes Islam incompatible to wester values.
If you want to kill others don't be surprised when others want to kill you.

Most people do not understand it... If they did, then they would know it is a threat. Most people think it is harmless because they have never looked into it. Ignorance is bliss. That's how Nazism rampaged across Europe in WWII resulting in millions of deaths. People were sleeping on Islam and didn't see it coming.

@SeekerOfTruth007 read the old testament. It's full of violence too.
That alone doesn't say much. There are many ways to read and interpret old texts.
There are moderate and modern Islamic countries, and there are some stuck in the past lead by extremists. I like to differentiate and throw everyone into the same bucket. Being Muslim alone doesn't make you automatically a threat to the western world.

If we're not talking about political Islam or extremist sects, I haven't seen any threat from Muslims who embrace a secular society and simply practice their faith privately.
