Trending & News They are totally bullshit and need to be taken down by force if necessary. We all truly know what they are being used for and it isn't just enforcing traffic laws. These surveillance companies are gathering WAY too much data on us from cameras, social media, and unfortunately, our government handing them data (see the goverment handing medicaid data over to Palantir).
We are heading for an era where people can be jailed just for posting our thoughts on the web and this is already happening with police visiting people for online posts that call out republican politicians. This isn't some conspiracy theory thing.
I think it’s clear that this is the real demand for data center expansion. They’re keeping data on everyone, including republicans you dink.
You think leftist politicians aren’t harassing and persecuting people too? 😂😂😂
London has the most expansive public surveillance in the world and the UK is deeply “liberal”. The entire “hush money” prosecution of Drumpf was trumped up. NY is trying to set a precedent for charging a man from Florida for gun crimes despite the fact that he had never been to NY prior to his extradition.
I didn't say that Leftists dont do it, they just dont do it on the scale republicans have been doing since Trump took office. He has such a thin skin and can't take criticism. I can't speak for other countries I dont live in.
Never heard of them so I had a Google. Closest thing here in the UK is the ANPR camera which isn't as clever but just as unpopular. They can be used to spot untaxed vehicles or look for vehicles who cross into the wrong lane at junctions, most commonly they're used to enforce parking rules. They result in millions of drivers a year getting fined.
One here at a MacDonalds costs drivers a total of £500,000 a year. It's on a busy roundabout junction and people see a sign to turn left into MacDonald, you can't stop on a roundabout and your under pressure so they take the wrong left and end up in a bus lane.
What really pisses me off is carparks that uses to be free after 7pm are now using it to charge 24/7. Tonnes of people, particularly tourists, drive in late at night thinking its free or only intending to stay a few mins then find a fine waiting for them in the post.
I've not been caught yet but you always feel anxious when driving anywhere new. Chop them down
Britain has cameras everywhere and the streets are no safer. Seems like if something ever happened the cameras were pointing the wrong way or broke.
What people are sensing on the issue and a lot of other issues is government overeach were everything you do can be monitored and controlled.
Say something negative about the government or a policy you disagree with in the privacy of your home then the government can hear you through your phone or tv or whatever and turn up to take you away to a rehabilitation centre.

Glad they're not near me because I'd happily take my girl and spray paint them black, or just shoot em
They are coming. Stock up on paint and fresh blades for your recip saw or angle grinder. 😂😂😂
I don't give a f***! What is so bad about security cameras?
It’s not the cameras themselves, it’s how they are used and by whom. They’re obviously collecting data on people. That’s the real reason for the “need” for data center expansion. It also gives the private companies that make and monitor the cameras access to information that only the government should have.
People are already getting falsely fined and charged with crimes that they couldn’t possibly have committed due to the combination of the cameras and the less than perfect AI used with them.
Especially in regions where “defund the police” has taken hold, police will be replaced consistently more frequently with machines that nobody is double checking before innocent people are arrested and prosecuted.
