I have experienced some extraordinary things

Two friends and I backpacked to Thousand Island Lake near Yosemite.
One night, we were camping high up on the side of a hill overlooking the lake. We had a small camp fire, were drinking a bit of tequila and had taken some peyote.
All of a sudden, the entire landscape lit up with a bright, white light. We looked up to see a meter streaking low across the sky over the lake from left to right. The tail was miles long.
It was so low that when it passed over a hill,, we expected to see or hear an impact explosion.
Once the sky was dark again, we sat there in disbelief at what we had witnessed.
About 30 seconds later, we heard a rumbling, buffeting noise that was the sound of the meteor crashing through the atmosphere as it had passed.

I was hiking with some friends up a canyon in southern California. We were a few miles in when, up ahead, the landscape was red. When we got closer, the red glistened.
When we got there, we discovered that it was millions of ladybugs covering every rock twig, blade of grass and inch of ground for acres. It was a truly remarkable sight.

Another time, some friends and I were camping in that same canyon.
At dusk, I decide to take a walk along a path next to the creek.
The dry, brown leaves on the path were dappled with sunlight through the trees.
Up ahead, the path seemed to be undulating. I thought I was hallucinating.
As I approached, I saw that thousands of orange, California newts were making their way up from the creek, across the path, and into the leaf-covered bank on the other side. They were packed together and blanketing the path as far up ahead as I could see.

One time, I guy I knew offered me a ride in his Folland Gnat, a 1950s-era, two seat, jet fighter. He flew me in his Beach Bonanza to the Mojave airport where he kept the jet.
A test pilot from Edwards AFB and former combat pilot took me up and gave me a Hell of a ride that very few people ever get to experience.

For my 60th birthday, my wife surprised me with a ride on an open-cockpit, bi-wing airplane. She knew it had been on my bucket list since I had been a kid.
The pilot performed aerobatics for me.

When I was 36, I met a 30 year old. We started dating and wound up living together for 2 years. She was 5'1" and gorgeous - my vision of the feminine ideal. She also turned out to be hypersexual, orgasmic, enthusiastic, and extremely skilled.

Waking up in the morning to the sound of birds with no human presence anywhere. Although many fear the idea of being alone without any people sometimes being alone surrounded by nature is an experience that can give you great peace and pleasure if you allow yourself to enjoy it.
