This decision has been upheld at every level including the Supreme Court which is stacked in Trump's favor and yet some people still think he's worth defending. His behavior in this matter would prove to any moral person that he is unfit for public office at any level.

Not sure. The 5 million doesn't really cost anything to him so it's just the principle that is being fought. Considering the case as it was it was a pretty bunk verdict, basically flipped the US system over to guilty until proven innocent (Which at the time was basically #metoo's premise).

I get the feeling this is only being upheld to protect the court system from internal scrutiny. People are pretty unhappy with qualified immunity and judicial immunity at the moment and the court system admitting it has problems like this in it's structure would open up cans of worms no one wants crawling on the floor.
