Can automakers sue Democrats over Biden’s failed electric car push?

Under Joe Biden, they made a policy requiring Automobile manufacturers to produce at least half electric automobiles. Nobody bought them. They are sitting on endless lots and will never be bought, because they cost twice as much as gasoline autos and because insurance also costs twice as much. Nobody can afford to pay 80 to 100k for an automobile and another 80 to 100k worth of auto insurance.

Shouldn't automakers be allowed to sue the Democrat national convention for damages, since they never wanted to invest so heavily in electric anyway?

In America anybody can sue for anything so yeah.

When the model T came out most transport was horse and cart and within a few years virtually all horses as transport were gone, you couldn't give a horse away. Some people like to compare that to EVs and petrol/gas cars now but when the model T came out governments didn't have to force people to buy them by taxing horses, they just bought them.

Nobody is buying EVs, nobody wants them. I've an EV I bought as a tax write off and now a few years later I can't give it away.

American car manufacturers have messed up, not just with EVs but with the current overpricing of their products. Was looking a new truck recently and there's lots and lots of ford, Dodge, GM trucks just sitting there yet they won't drop the prices.

That is by design. That was the whole point of the tariffs against china EV so USA companies can catch up.

Yes, they did. Biden literally signed an Executive Order requiring half of all automobiles to be electric by 2030.
