Do you think ICE getting electric gloves is a step too far?

ICE already signed a contract with some company to develop department issued gloves that when activated, will shock detainees who attempt to stand up for their civil and God given liberties. Criticts say this is yet another example of hardline Conservatives putting law enforcement on the endangered species list, while offering civilians no opportunity for a fair fight and subjection to abuse.

On the flip side, supporters of the new technology said it's actually more humane, and will prevent detainees from being shot.

But this comes amidst already criticism of ICE agents not being required to remove their masks, so they can abuse their power without fear of reprecussions.

I'm always interested in constitutional questions so if you will excuse my curiosity. The whole world knows about the US right to free speech. But where does the right to a fair fight against law enforcement derive from?

The US seems to have been very early with established law enforcement bodies - 1789 with Federal Marshall's. Earlier than the UK police forces.

Are Hue and Cry's still valid in the US? Cause stuff on TV I have seen looks like a hue and cry.

Hue and Cry's are a helluvva lot of fun I can tell you. I started one in my street a few years ago and we ran down a druggie girl who had stolen from me. Everybody enjoyed it - broad smiling faces afterwards other than than the druggie girl's face who was spitting chips.
