I think you nailed it in your description, but I also believe they have been indoctrinated by their echo chambers of fox "news", Facebook, and other right wing social media. They believe they are free thinkers, but in reality they are a brainwashed cult.

Of course they will point the finger and claim liberals as a cult, but liberals are really just broken factions that allow for free thinking, they just have different opinions on how to get there, hence the rise of DSA vs corporate democrats beholden to Israel.

MAGA on the other hand is a hive mind of hatred of anyone different than them and their leadership is the very definition of fascists. It's a plague that needs to be eradicated.

@strateguy632 Divisiveness comes from a lack of diplomacy and name calling. No president in our lifetime has been more divisive. His childish behavior appeals to simple folk who are unable to articulate their position effectively without resorting to juvenile name calling.
