With intelligence being subjective, what are a few things in day to day life you see people do and say that make you think they aren't too smart?

Making assumptions and acting on them when they don't have to.

I watched someone in a 5 thousand pound forklift try to move a 30 foot long steel baseplate that weighed 8 thousand pounds and he was genuinely shocked when the forks went up and the lift started tipping. I've never seen anything quite like it because then he seemed to think if he worked with the side shift... Like maybe that was the reason it wasn't working.

That guy seemed pretty dumb to me.
