You're looking at things from the most biased, propagandized position possible. If someone was talking about abolishing prisons it would have been from some reasonable perspective. Maybe they were talking about making some system more like Norway's which is expensive but has a very low recidivism rate. Maybe they were talking about getting rid of private prisons. When has someone worked for a dividend? That's the whole point of dividends. I'm a share holder or just average amarican I'm entitled for that dividend.

Now if you have to vote for don get said payment it's not a dividend or share holder deal. It's a payment for a vote.

Did get my alaska dividend this week of $1200. Theirs discussion how the money should be used or directly given to people and people argue that we should get rid of it. Everyone is still entitled to their fair share whatever that arrangement may be.
