If we let artificial intelligence do our thinking for us, we will stop thinking.

Mostly true. There will always be a few independent souls, but most people will be sheep.
I did ask AI to answer this one for me...
" That’s a real risk—but I’d frame it more precisely:
If we let AI replace our thinking rather than support it, we may gradually weaken our ability to think independently.
The danger isn’t using AI itself. It’s outsourcing the effort that produces understanding: questioning, remembering, reasoning, making mistakes, and forming our own judgments.
AI can also do the opposite. Used deliberately, it can challenge assumptions, explain difficult ideas, offer competing perspectives, and help us think more deeply.
The key distinction is “AI as a substitute for thinking” vs. “AI as a tool for thinking.”
Yes takes fewer words, but it is concise.
I agree with Tony Robbins' opinion on this. (See, you can agree or disagree with people's opinions)
Tony says that AI will not be taking your job away from you. A guy named Bob will be taking your job away from you. Why? Because Bob has learned how to add AI to his toolbox and you haven't. Think of it as a complex program like AutoCAD. AutoCAD didn't steal your job from you, Bob, did.
The book, War and Peace is over a half million words. Bob's AI can read it in 39 seconds. Good luck competing with Bob.
(And when I use the word "you", I don't mean that in a personal way.
Already seeing it. Companies aren't training people anymore and are relying on AI. That's OK at present when there's experienced people around to point our when it's wrong but in the near future we're going to see people blindly believing anything it churns out.
Here, they are asking AI who they should vote for.
Opinions cannot be true or false, since they are not facts, they can only be grounded in reality or ungrounded in reality. This particular opinion, the way I see it, is partially grounded in reality.
Scientifically speaking, FALSE. The human brain doesn't work that way. And also, AI isn't gonna reach every corner of the world.
Only the wealthy and/or most powerful corners.
And isolated ones
Yes, look at what calculators and spell check did. The kids can't add and they can't spell. Soon they won't be able to think.
Opinions are never true or false. Facts and fallacies are.
Incorrect. If you go to the doctors he will give you his opinion based on his training and experience, as will many other professions. To dismiss it as not factual as it's only an opinion isn't logical.
@purplepoppy That's what second opinions are about.
You can choose to agree or disagree with someone's opinion, so why didn't you just do that on this question?
GAG would be a much better experience if people would spend as much time answering the questions as they do criticizing the questions.
It's already happening. Students that use AI do better on assignments and worse on exams.
Opinions are not facts, therefore they are neither true nor false.
On opinion is an hypothesis. It can be proven true or proven false. It's called the scientific method.
We already have Harvard complaining students can't write
