What are little wishing myths that you have heard of?

There are common ones such as wishing on a shooting star and yesterday my family and I did the wishbone wish just for fun. What are some others that you know of?

The Thousand Origami Cranes has become a symbol of world peace through the story of Sadako Sasaki, a Japanese girl who tried to stave off her death from leukemia as a result of radiation from the atomic bombing of Hiroshima during World War II by making one thousand origami cranes, having folded only 644 before her death, and that her friends completed and buried them all with her. (This is only one version of the story. Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum states that she did, in fact, complete the 1,000 cranes.)

I remember reading Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes when I was in elementary school, it was a good book. I think it also made me cry, lol. Not that that's particularly hard to do. =P But it was touching.

I've heard of many but the only one I care about is wishing upon a shooting star.

I can't remember the last time I made a wish before blowing candles, or passed by a well. Wishbones? Into the garbage they go!

the silliest one I've ever heard of is the one where you write down a list of 10 things you want in a guy and sleep with it under your pillow you'll randomly meet a guy with those qualities they call her the "man fairy".."boyfriend fairy" lol

Hm... There's the 11:11 wish, naturally.

For whatever reason, my family does the "eyelash" wish; if you have an eyelash on your cheek, and someone notices, they swipe it off and have you blow it off their finger. *shrugs* I don't know why, but we do it.
