Facebook vs. Phone Number - what comes first?

I want to ask a cute girl in my class either for her phone number or if I can add her on Facebook. Which is better to start with? Eventually, both would be nice.

Facebook is largely meaningless. There are multiple reasons why only asking for Facebook is a bad thing. 1. She might not want to give it to you yet. 2. It can be interpreted as you not being really interested in her.

What you can do is ask her for her contact info, and let her decide what to give you. What I'd do is grab a pen and something nice to write on (it's better if's a notebook or something important to you than a scrap of trash that looks like it will quickly get recycled), and just give it to her to write in.

This is the "safe road" to take if you're afraid of straight up asking for her number right away.

She might end up giving it to you anyway, which is much better than if she just tells you to add her on Facebook. Remember that once you know her well enough, you can add her on Facebook without even asking, so I don't see what point there is to asking right now.

I think in your interactions with her in person you should be trying to get to that point where you are comfortable enough to get her number (and obviously she is comfortable enough to give you hers). Just becoming Facebook friends is much easier and means less in my opinion, so go for the phone number first.

Well, I don't think your'e actually suppose to ask if you can add her on FB. What if she says no? How awkward would that be? You can't be like "hey can I add you on FB" she would probably think OK creepy wants to stalk my life. I say add her on FB without her permission, message her saying something innocent and flirtly like "found you :)" or... or... ehh I can't think of anything sweet, hopefully you'll figure it out. Then, ask for her number.

If you want to initiate "stronger" contact, ask for her number, text her after a couple of days and then add her.

If a guy asks me for my number, I'm happy and excited to get together with him.

If a guys asks to be my friend on Facebook, I forget about him and conclude he's not worth my time.

Sure, we can eventually be friends on Facebook LATER. But if FB is the first resort before the actual number, then it's a no-go.

I'm all about the real world. Facebook is a way to hide behind your feelings, and you're losing out on the great experience of personal interaction.

Hm, tough one. I think this could go either way.

Some people have their # on fb, so that could be a two for one.

Here's the difference I see: Phone # implies you want to contact her, assumedly to hang out later.

Facebook just means you want to know more about her life without having to ask. Also, everyone adds on Fb. That add has less depth than asking for her number.

You know what, I say go for paydirt bro, ask for either or. I'd say they're on the same level. Just don't harass her once you get them. And if you're nervous about it, maybe present yourself in a situation were you may need them. Ask her for assistance, or offer assistance in the class. Bond that way over study dates.

Get the digits. You can just add her on Facebook at anytime, but if you get her number it seems more personal.

Personally when a person adds me on Facebook I could care less I basically have my whole scool as my Facebook friends add her on Facebook whenever and ask for her number that's when I would realize a guy was nterested!:)
