What happens to a guy when his ego is really hurt?

If a girl he likes hurts his ego by rejecting him or not giving a damn and moves on after he rejects her or breaks up with her, what happens to him afterwards? Is he just embarrassed? Or does he feel a little emotional pain? What does it mean if he tries to avoid seeing her completely? I guess what I want to know is if his ego and pride is hurt, does it mean that his feelings are hurt?

If he really was in love with her and not some cold-hearted a**hole, he becomes the saddest creature on earth. It's tough to see a bro going through a heartbreak, that's for sure.

How they cope can differ. Some throw themselves into a (new) hobby and spend almost all their time with it. Others will go down a self-destructive path with drugs. Some focus on their career.

And although many won't admit it, a lot of them will cry. Hard.

He feels all of the above. If it's happened to him quite a bit, he might become an angry person who no longer wants anyone in his life. And we don't want to see whoever she is again because it hurts. Plus, it's a waste of time to even think about her.

Actually he normally isn't this way. He's usually a happy individual. But what if it was his fault in the beginning? Cause I've ha a huge past with him but also was his close friend. I finally told him how I felt but HE rejected me and found it flatering to play games. He expected me to be sad depressed but I showed him I was tring and confident and was ready to move on. He didn't expect that and freaked out on me and started to be mean to me. So I ended our friendship. He insulted me first

Oh, sorry. I misread it. Yeah, you did the right thing of ending your friendship. I've had girls do what he did and they can't handle rejection at all. One even started threatening me because she wanted me to talk to her again.

thanks. like I said he's usually a confident and happy guy, which confused me and shocked me as to why he acted this way. I have this other guy below you arguing with me saying that I was playing games with the guy first.. and he's upsetting me cause he thinks he knows the situation,..

Depending how in touch the guy is with his feelings. Some guys have the ability to move on cause they know it wasn't worth their time anyway and some guys may feel a complete blow to their ego which has a direct impact on how he feels.

Yeah of course its embarrassing and depending on how involved he was with you emotionally or interest wise, it hurts. But the problem with girls is that they don't understand that when you hurt our ego and push you away- that's it. We aren't gonna come running back. You all seem to fail understanding that there are billions of you and when you say no, we can find someone who will say yes.

Well I didn't do anything. I was being truthful and finally came out and told him how I felt for him. It was him who had that ego boost and rejected me even tho we had a huge past together and I was still one of his closest female friends. But he wanted to play games and it hurt me. So I showed him that I was OK with him rejecting and am able to move on. Then he became nasty and mean to me because I wasn't sad and desperate. That's why I mean his ego is hurt. It was him who tried to hurt me

So you think that you boosted his ego by showing interest in him and then scrapped it when you shot him down? That's a game. Guys don't play games. Of course he became mean because you're playing games with him, it has nothing to do with wanting you to be sad and desperate and if it is, you're just as guilty for rejecting him to hurt his ego. Why play all the games and deal with all the pain on both ends. Both or one of you suck up your pride and get together or walk the other way.

I wasn't playing any games. I asked him to still be my friend and hoped nothing changed. He knows I cared for him for many years. And now that he rejected me, I wanted a little space for a few days. He kept calling me and I told him to give me a little space just for a few days. But he played with me by saying "I need to tell you something" acting like he wants to tell me he likes me now, just to get my hopes up and then talk about something else. I know this cause he did this to me b4.

Okay so guys don't just reject girls for no reason. What you are failing to see is that you intentionally bruised his ego, embarrassed him and made him look stupid prior to this rejection. You are failing to see that this was mostly your fault but are doing what females always do when they know they're wrong and turning the blame back on the guy. Maybe you're the one with the bruised ego and your immaturity doesn't allow you to handle it properly so that's why it's his problem now.

Lol. Didn't I just say HE REJECTED ME AS SOON AS I TOLD HIM I CARED AbOUT HIM? I admit he rejected in mature way and told me he only sees me as a friend an says that he has a vision of a girl that he wants and it's obviously NOT ME. Which was fine with me because I'm not gonna mope around. So I told him I understood. He even felt pity for me an said sorry. But when I asked him for a little space, he didn't respect me and kept calling and making me think he likes me and putting my hopes up

He was doing that on purpose cause he did that to me before so I told him I didn't appreciate that. And told him that he shouldn't think I'm sad because I'm very thankful that I had the courage to tell someone how I feel. He didn't like that I said that and started being mean now tell me what the hell was wrong with what I said? NOTHING! He just couldn't handle that I wasn't crying over him.

You're missing the whole basis of why this happened. You rejected him prior to him rejecting you.
