Applying to be a shot girl?

I am going in later this week to apply/interview to be a shot girl at a local pool hall/bar. Does anyone work in a bar/club and/or have tips or suggestions or experiences to share with me? I'm planning on wearing either jeans with heels and a cute top or white shorts with heels and a cute top.

Also, I have braces, but I am getting them off the end of next month. Will that really be a big deal and/or should I mention it in the interview? I don't want to draw attention to it if it isn't a big deal.

From women I know who work in similar jobs, for maximum tips, you have to dress sexy but not necessarily too revealing, suggestive is probably better, but make sure your attire is with the theme of the establishment. Also appear to be available, but not actually be available, generally that means not dating male patrons, but still be flirty. Smile a lot. Keep yourself in good shape, a pretty face helps, but most places aren't brightly lit so male tipping patrons are gonna see your body more than your face. Keep in mind though, your job is not to get more tips, but to encourage patrons to stay and spend more money, do that well tips will follow. Smile and be polite, even to those occasional loser deadbeats, which I'm told you'll run into.

Not knowing what the establishment is like, I can't say if braces will matter or not, some guys like it, but if the lighting is for ambience they may not be too visible, and if they are coming off in in a couple of months I wouldn't worry about it anyway.

I can stick to those tips. As far as the establishment, it really is mostly just a pool hall. Lots of pool tables, some darts and shuffle board. There's no dance floor or anything. And the lighting is definitely dim.

Cool. I think you'll do just fine there. One other thing, and not suggesting this place will be guilty of it, just know under law you have rights to not be touched or groped. When under influence of alcohol, we can do stupid things. Some bar management look the other way or even dismiss it (but some also take strong measures to protect female employees). Don't tolerate that for once instance.

I appreciate the heads up. I'm not sure yet how this place is as far as keeping an eye out for their girls. But the bouncers will be the first ones I make friends with lol.

If you do get accepted, don't take insults like when other girls or guys say " your ugly & not pretty or something" too seriously okay, Besides I don't want anything bad happen to you when getting accepted, like few people below said " keep with a good attitude & don't let anyone let your guard down" innocent girls deserve to be treated with respect an such. Just be brave an be yourself an by the way you are way too beautiful to be hurt:) just appreciate for who you are. if they are insulting you way too much, ignore them. best tips I can give you, also if the boss your not good enough don't go then. You are good enough, you have very pretty hair an a very Innocent girl:) Don't pressure yourself, just to get this job, it would be pointless just to get surgey to get this job, then finding out that you were ugly when you are not, so you are beautiful a very nice girl:)

Also, some guys just don't have respect for beautiful & innocent girls. They think its funny seeing them hurt an going through nervous breakdowns, that's why you hear that most girls are actually going through hard stress an letting them destroy there self-esteem.

Thank you for the compliments, and don't worry, I have PLENTY of confidence lol. I'm aware that I am a pretty girl, and I'm not "innocent." The freckles are deceiving lol, but like I said, that can/will work in my favor the way I see it because the customers at the bar will be drawn to that.

Thats good your aware of that, most girls arent. Just remember you are very beautiful an freckles that you mention doesn't matter to me. I think you are very beautiful an have such beautiful eyes:) just be brave an you do fine, good luck with the job an let me know how it goes:)

Hmm. I worked at a bar for a month (yeah yeah, but half the staff got laid off) and I noticed a few things that I would think worth remembering.

1. Try to look hot but not slutty.

2. Be able to work quickly without making mistakes.

3. Learn the system rapidly.

4. Know how to deal with customers and people.

I think the shorts + cute top sounds like a winning combination. You're a cutie so I'm sure you'll ace the interview and be successful in that type of work environment. I've done some part time bouncing at a few of the clubs/bars in my area, and the one thing I'll say about the bar scene...almost never a dull night lol. :p
