I usually unfriend someone if they are no longer hold any importance in my life. These usually include people I no longer speak to, hang out with or care to know about. It's nothing personal though. Also, I have unfriended certain people who I feel don't need to know too much about my life either. So for my own personal "privacy" (since it IS Facebook), I choose to limit my friend list to those who I actually know in real life and not some random guy who I went to high school with five years ago.
Most Helpful Opinions
1) If you find out they're a$$holes (in real life or online)
2) If you're cleaning out your friends list & you don't talk/communicate in any way (I've seen lots of people do this, it's nothing personal)
3) If you find out they've done something horrible to someone close to you.
4) Evangelists
5) Constantly making negative comments or doing things that bring others down.
There's lots of reasons, but these are the ones I've experienced personally.
Lately I have been unfriending people because I want to have better control of my privacy. Basically, if I never communicate with someone, and possibly don't even really like or know them (like just an acquaintance from school or we met once through a friend), I remove them from my friends list. The two questions I ask myself are: would I wish this person Happy Birthday? and do I care if I never see his/her profile again?
Some possible reasons:
1. They are rude to me, disrespectful
2. They are associated with something that I disagree with (criminal activity, racism, etc)
3. I haven't talked to them in 3 years and probably won't, and they're just taking up space
4. They flood my page with stupid sh*t
I don't ever get unfriended unless I just flat out piss off someone. People are too concerned about their popularity status to unfriend anyone.

Hello,
I don't unfriend people on Facebook. But I unfriended a guy. I like him sure thing. But... he flirted with me, then i accepted his friend request. I texted him enthusiastically. But he replied with a plain text. I know I'll kept overthinking and hurt myself. I did not want this to get over me so i chose to reluctantly unfriend him instead, before overthinking and acting obsessively over it. It sounds immature, but i want to protect myself from unnecessary drama and hurt. It's so easy to get overexcited when someone you like actually comes to you and openly shows he likes you. I want to avoid that as much as possible.
One reason I've unfriended guys on fb is if they try booty calling me through messages or insinuating that they think I'm the type to have "one night stands" in private messages. I never had anything against any of said guys until they messaged me inappropriately like that. I find it quite offensive. Other then that, I've never unfriended a guy for no apparent reason.
1.) I don't like you
2). You are just a mean person
3.) You have a horrible character
4.) your statuses are nasty (pictures/talking about smoking weed all the time and having sex)
5.) You have many untolerable statuses
6.) I simply don't know youIf we get to the point where they don't even say 'hi ;when they see me then imo we're no longer friends I'll delete em'. If we were never really friends and weren't even in the same class, I'll unfriend as soon as they post something stupid.
I have days where I just randomly delete a lot of people. The no of friends I have doesn't matter to me on fb. To most people its hidden anyways.I think now (with all the unique privacy settings on Facebook) if I delete someone it would be for a way more personal reason like:
A. I don't like you
B. I don't like the morals you represent
C. You were friends with my ex
D. I don't care about what you have to say and I don't feel you care about what I have to say.Usually it's because they post something that promotes intolerance and spreads hate..then I think "hmm were they thinking clearly when they said this crap"..and think about it for a few minutes. If they post a truly vile posts ..like naked people -_- (no one wants so see that, OK some people do...but please one should not just stumble upon breasts or coitus) that's an immediate unfriending.
I usually unfriend someone when we're at the point where:
- We haven't talked in years and probably won't talk again.
- I wouldn't know them if I saw them on the street.
- We never really talked in the first place and only friended each other because we had mutual friends.Hm, if someone is rude, childish, (both if I don't know that person very well). Mostly because I just don't talk to them anymore and I know I won't talk to them anymore in the future. Usually I just put those people in my group "acquintances" and they don't see that much on my profile.
I haven't unfriended many people, but when I have, it was either guys who kept posting sexual comments on my non-sexual status updates or photos, or guys who were generally creepy and hit on me. Or then it was because people kept posting things that I totally disagree with. I don't mind if they do it once, but if I have to wade through hundreds of posts talking about the same thing each day then it gets annoying.
these are ranked for me...
1) CREEPY! if you are creepy to me, you are gone in a second.
2) Tries to talk to me every time I get on
3) We never talk
4) I don't know you?
5) You post too many offensive statusesI unfriend guys when they make inappropriate explicitly sexual comments to me the third time in a row after I politely and sweetly ask them not to. I respond with silence and ignoring them the first time. I ask them to please not make those comments the second time. If they make them a third time after that, it expresses they have a mental problem. They're gone.
Hmm... I haven't talked to them in a while, I don't know why I accepted them in the first place, They post something stupid or offensive, stuff like that.
I usually just hide people on the newsfeed if they are annoying and talk negative. but it has gotten to the point where most people were annoying and I just deactivate my FB.
I unfriend people because of their negative post and I don't want to see it when scrolling down my timeline
1. I don't like you
2. Your statuses are immature and embarrassing
3. Lack morals
4. Seem to have a negative influenceIf I don't like them anymore.
If I'm tired of their annoying sh*t on my newsfeed.
If I never talk to them anymore.Well one of the main reasons I've deleted a lot of people was because they're always uploading nasty sh*t and it's all over my news feed 24/7.
My ex unfriended me.
I'm not too sure why esp since it was after I inboxed him a happy new years :(
Normally though I unfriend creepy people, people I don't talk to, sta;lkers, fake account peopleI've unfriended people because they brought their personal drama to Facebook and everything they said was negitive.
I might be doing a Facebook friend spring cleaning and unfriending everyone I'm not talking to anymore or who aren't really a part of my life.
