England National Football Team (Soccer)... Horrible performance in UEFA Nations League... Your thoughts for their success in World Cup 2022?

I don't think the Nations League is a big deal to many countries. Everyone's exhausted at this point from playing so much, everyone was subbing half their team out each game. I wouldn't worry about them later, although no one gets the usual practice time with the country ahead of the World Cup like usual, so everyone's going to have a little bit of a challenge there finding the chemistry again.

They are a mediocre team that never won anything (ok - one World Cup 50 years ago). People always have too high expectations for England.

But I was impressed with how Hungary played. I wish them to advance

Only because they lost twice to Albania. Their other results were very good.

I think England doing abysmally in the Nations League was kinda expected considering that Southgate omitted Eric Dier (who was amazing for Tottenham in the latter half of the premier league season) and instead called up Harry Maguire (who, as everyone knows, is trash). To Maguire's defense, before the Nations League, he was actually good for the national team, but then the Nations League came and everything went down the dumpster. And with a tough group with Wales, Iran, and USA, I don't see England making it out of the group stage unless Eric Dier continues to perform for Tottenham and Southgate finally calls him up to the national team.

and not a true measure or a reflection of a team's potential

these are the end of the seasons as well, so no player or team would want to go overboard and risks injuries or exhaustion, they will take it easy

To be fair (I'm Scottish, so laugh at English misfortune) That was their first truly bad game for a while.

He made the mistake of picking players who have already played 50-60 games this season. So they were not going to be 100%
