+1 yNot myself this particular world cup simply because I do not have enough time.
Do I believe in everything the narrative some media outlets put out and repeat?
Nope, I know which are ownership directive driven and which are not.
Think like this when you hear or read about something in the newspaper, it is usually correct: what you hear about politics and especially other countries, take it as the opposite and you get closer to the direction in what probably is actually factual.
Why and how so?
Ask the Warbourg/Wallenberg family or Börje Ekholm who sit on the licenses for telecom infrastructure in 184 countries.
I know how the value of money appears, I know some things about the stockholm syndrome.
I know what my country has been doing for quite a while that is illegal. Not country as a whole in that matter, but those who rule the country.
Yes I am a Swede but I did not vote for current government, yet I accept and respect the outcome.00 Reply

+1 yI honestly could not care less about soccer, but even if I did, I wouldn’t watch a World Cup that was taking place in a country with such terrible human rights abuses, and in a stadium that was built with essentially slave labor, and such terrible working conditions, that 6,500 people were killed during its’ construction!

@Levin Well I was born into incredible wealth, yes. But I was raped by my fathers twin brother on my 13th birthday! He continued raping me almost every week-day for three months! I was terrified, but when I missed my second period, THAT was more terrifying than anything he threatened me with! Because I was so tiny, and my reproductive system so underdeveloped I needed an emergency abortion, or it could have killed me! After that, my dad was so ashamed, b/c it was HIS brother, and he had my fathers face, so my dad wanted to move out because he thought that seeing him would trigger me, and cause me even more harm. It took years of therapy for me, but also the family as we were in crisis, and my parents, as much as they loved each other, were considering divorce… that was almost 7 years ago, and I still see a therapist once a week b/c of it… so HIGH-LIFE? Not exactly, money does not buy happiness. And the “uncle”? The coward killed himself when he learned that I not only meticulously documented everything he did to me, and made me do to him, but also the disgusting things he would say to me, like that first time when I was in agony as he tore not just my hymen, but my vaginal walls (again b/c I was so tiny) he whispered in my ear “Oh jesus, I can’t believe I’m finally getting to fuck you, I’ve wanted to do this for years!” YEARS! It was my 13th birthday! Well prosecutors had ALL of that, as well as his DNA from the rape-kit & the fetus! So not so high-life! Also the only reason I’m in college is to become a psychologist so I can open a low cost/no cost “pay whatever you can afford” clinic for girls (and boys) who have survived things similar to what I went through! And the money for it comes from the lawsuit I filed against his estate! As everyone on my fathers side of the family gets a trust fund (including me) but I cannot access it until my 25th birthday, but HIS millions, I will spend that helping EVERY other survivor in my community of adults just like him!

Also, I do find the concept of living for my memories rather odd. My memories seem rather stale to me. I don't find much joy in them at all. I think my potentiality and capacity for change, and my health, hold more importance for me. (Plus of course my capacity to take the piss out of Americans :))

No. Soccer is so weird. There is no entertainment value there at all. What I do respect about the soccer crazy from other countries is they truly want to take the time to learn about futbol de norteamericano even though they love their soccer, rugby and cricket.

Soccer in the States for me was being a kid and having the choice between that and TBALL!!! Here TBALL wasn't a thing, vs playing real baseball. TBALL is fantastic, for what? A hitting drill!! It's with you the rest of your life. Floor Hockey was the penultimate. ICE TIME is a bitch, though. Yet, I live in the STATE OF HOCKEY. The NHL is made up of mostly Canadians and Minnesotans. Hockey is so expensive, it's insane. Bud Grant as a Vikings coach lost 4 Superbowls. Despite the fact he played for Championship OG Minneapolis Lakers NBA teams, he made more money playing for the Stillwater town ball baseball team. MN has the most intrinsic and far out reaching 9 inning wood bat amateur league the Country, and/or World has ever seen. It's still that great, to have 300 plus teams in 3 Classes. North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Nebraska, New York State all base their Leagues off ours. Banned members from the 1919 White SOX, played here to earn their living. The hay day before the Senators moved here. Before TV. The Twins.
+1 yI'm sporadically watching some games, depending on whether I have time or not. But I'm not super into it, nowhere near as much as I'm usually. For one because my team (Italy) didn't qualify, second because it's fucking fall/winter and it just doesn't feel right, and then there's the whole thing with the host and FIFA being absolute assholes.
