Will the Detroit Lions ever win a Super Bowl?

I am a Lifelong Detroiter born and raised here. And I have gotten used to this team always losing the big games in December and January.

Many blame the ownership (the Ford family) for why this team has never won a Super Bowl and I agree with that.

Sheila Hamp Ford, the daughter of Willian Clay and Martha Ford has recently taken over the ownership position of the organization and has hired a completely new regime.

As of December 12, 2022 this team has 6 wins and 7 losses (6-7) and is in the hunt for a wild card playoff spot.

In my opinion I don't think the Lions will win a Super Bowl as long as the Fords continue to own the team. The Fords say they will never sell the team. As lions fans we are stuck with them as the owners and we just have to grin and bare it for the forseeable future.

Will they ever? Who knows, but this team right now? Hell no. They have a great offense. Good weapons (like Amon StBrown), just got Jameson Williams back, great 2 runningbacks, and Jared Goff isn't amazing but he's a good QB capable of running an offense. Where they struggle is their defense absolutely blows, and Dan Campbell's horrible decision-making doesn't help either. Jeff Okudah was a draft bust, Hutchinson has been inconsistent (but GREAT when he plays it) but young so he needs time. Outside of those two, they have all players whose names are basically pulled from the Madden name randomizer. They need an entire secondary and linebacker unit and need to develop Aidan Hutchinson before they're ready to content.
