I wasn't around during his era, but I always remembered hearing his name. I don't think there's a single sports fan who doesn't know who Pelé is.

I sadly can't say anything about his career, but I remember seeing him in the movie "Victory", where his character scored a bicycle kick with an ankle injury.

And I remember seeing an ad in Poland where he quoted a famous Polish football coach in our native language. I was like, "OMG, Pelé is speaking Polish and quoting Górski!" I felt so proud to be Polish at that moment.

I had to hold back my tears this morning. The man was an icon and a role model to so many. I'm glad he got to experience one last World Cup and Christmas, but man, it's a sad day for the football community. We will miss him dearly. I'm curious what BBC will say about his death.
