The players get higher scores in the NBA in recent years because of clock technicalities and rules changes, but statistically they were better overall 30 to 60 years ago than they are now, when you consider all 5 stats combined. Its' one thing to score 30 points per game, but it's another to have a 30 point triple double in the playoffs and win 90 regular season games like the Bulls or Rockets could do in Jordan and Olajuwon's era.

I know a way to fix the inbound clock technicality. They should make it a technical foul if an inbound ball bounces more than once before being caught inbounds. Then the clock would run off faster and it would give defense an even playing field again.
