Not a fan of watching either versions of football, but I am not into Hockey either and I am Canadian.
I played soccer/football all through high school into University, but rarely watched a game on TV.
Glasgow Rangers fan here. And I love that you chose a Besiktas photo. I went to their stadium in Istanbul, amazing experience, they were playing against Trabzonspor. I LOVED the atmosphere. Besiktas fans are the best!
Football is great, as for soccer Iād rather watch paint dry
Basketball: You have to get the ball into your net by dribbling or throwing it.
Soccer: You have to get the ball into your net by kicking it
Hockey: You have to get the puck into your net but slapping it across a sheet of ice with a bent stick
Football: You have to get the ball over the goal by throwing, kicking or carrying it.
Ok..

@CoolCatMar1 Yep. I couldn't care less about a bunch of guys running around killing each other over the an ugly little oblong ball!! You guys go play with yourselves! I'm gonna stay here and watch the girls!!

Football, yes.
Soccer, not so much.
They both are f* same
@KralArthur
No, they're not.
"Football", as how most people in the world think of it, is "Association Football"... Notice this SOC in asSOCiation. That's why the English originally called that sport "soccer" and which is why we call it soccer in North America. The English called it "soccer" to differentiate it from "Gridiron Football" which is what we in North America just call "Football". The critical difference is that, in England, soccer became much more popular than gridiron football, probably because it is easier and cheaper to play. Thus, over the years, "association football" became the only relevant "football" so the name "soccer" was dropped for "football" and, do to the British Empire, this is why it is now "football" all over the world... except in North America and a few other nations. Meanwhile, in North American, "gridiron football" became the more popular sport - for one thing, it takes up less space. So, "soccer" mostly faded away but was kept alive by immigrants. But, regardless of the popularity, "association football" was always called "soccer" in North America because that's what the English called it. For them, "soccer" faded away, but it didn't here. And, since soccer was mostly irrelevant in North American until the past few decades, "gridiron football" was ascendent and just became "football" here.
