You gotta look at
fuel efficiency
Mileage
The condition
Price
And it depends, are you saying cheap or affordable because cheap would mean used and under the blue book value of the vehicle, affordable means a higher price which normally means its in better condition and most likely has a lower mileage, I'd say go for affordable cause a lot of the times they are in better condition in general and you won't want to buy a car that's been abused and worn to the point you'll waste money on repairs.

Depends on how much of your wealth the car represents, how much time you spend driving, and how much you enjoy driving. There is no reason a very wealthy person should own a cheap car if they enjoy driving - its a tiny fraction of their income. OTOH a poor person is probably best buying the least expensive care (to buy and operate) that meets their requiremetns.
I bought an old '07 Honda Fit. It was pre-owned.
It is still running perfectly, and I've never once spent more than $60/month on gas.
It's not only cheaper, it's more fuel efficient (which means better for your wallet and environment) and often these older cars are built better than new ones.
Newer models are built with planned obselecense in mind. They don't want you to never come back, they want to trap you in their dealership garage as much as they can.

That depends entirely on you. What do you want in a car? You might find a better equipped used Toyota or Honda for the same or less money. We have a 2020 Honda CR-V on lease expiring in December. We will buy it.
Well yes and no it depends on what you want and exactly want as far as performance and what you're using the car for
As long as it works completely fine I wouldn't mind.
Sure, as it runs good and doesn't have high mileage.
