As deadly of a punch as Tyson had in his prime (the kid dynamite days) so was George Foreman. Few people hit harder. And Ali was able to weather his punches. I always enjoy this story Foreman always tells about his first fight with with Ali because it sums up how he mentally defeated him by taking all Foreman had to give and in typically Ali fashion just asking him "Is that all you got George"?

I'm actually glad Tyson and Ali never fought in the same Era. Because Tyson was unstoppable in my youth. Not just the great boxers he decimated but the speed at which he decimated them. I don't think I'd want this question being answered Tyson will always have that early mystique. And now we can look back on it and say How long would he have reigned if Cus D'Amato never passed away?

Mike Tyson probably, but I could see Muhammad Ali winning too.

- Mike Tyson uses a style similar to Joe Fraizer and is better than him. This would be useful

- Muhammad Ali also could avoid a lot of the hits and be a total pain the ass for Mike.

Overall, they both have styles that are annoying for each other.

i tend to say ali. tyson had devastating power, great speed, and incredible accuracy BUT I think Ali's reach, quickness, power, agility, and most importantly intelligence would put him over Tyson

I believe Tyson would beat Ali easily by TKO within the first 2 rounds IF Tyson was successful in squarely landing one (or more) of his deadly haymakers. If not, and Ali was able to avoid any direct hits early on, once the fight got into the 3rd round and beyond, Ali would just wait Tyson out and then go in for the KO in the later rounds once Tyson started showing signs of fatigue.

that's a tough one, they were both in their prime while in their 20s. however Ali lost his first match at 29 while Tyson lost his first at 23 so its clear that Ali was stronger and held his ground better

Ali won a total of 56 fights and only lost 5 while Tyson only won 50 and lost 6 so the ball is on Ali's park with this one

Tyson. Like Rocky Marciano, Tyson was mostly a Light Heavyweight; faster and more nimble than Ali. I think he was more aggressive and less tactical. But if Ali got him with an effective combination, that would have set Tyson back on his heels and he would fight more defensively, at least for a while. One man's opinion.

We can not know what happen in the fight. But Ali is too fast when punching and too fast when escape from the punch. But if Mike catch him with a punch he can defeat Ali. So we can not know what will happen. Both are great boxers.

That's a good question. Mike Tyson said Ali was the greatest because he would "take you out into deep waters and drown you". If Ali knew he was outgunned, he would stay alive until the final rounds and then finish off his opponents after they were all out of gas.
