I think boxing was more popular when I was growing up and coming from a male dominated family, there were certain fights that were a huge deal to my dad and uncles. 😂 I can't really say that I was ever that into it, tho.

I've watched MMA a few times and I get the appeal, but like boxing, I can't really get into it like a lot of people are.

People are faster when they are young. Sprinters are all washed up at 25. Sports that do not depend on just speed like baseball which requires ball skills and experience can be played at the pro level into their 40s. Marathon runners require endurance and the building of slow twitch muscle fibers. This can take several years. Marathon runners can compete into their 40s in fact the most are in their 30s.
