Yeah, they hit hard because they generate power from the floor and use every part of their when punching, kicking, and blowing.

Whereas, when you see karate punches, they are primarily stationary and have less movement. I am not pro muay thai, but I know I can kick a black belt in karates ass easily.

Now look at this video and notice how when the Muay Thai guy, is using more muscles and routing his body to generate more power in his attacks.

But when you look at the Karate guy, notice his body more still, and he's routing as much. That's why they invited kickboxing because karate guys were out-damaged by Muay Thai.

Yeah, most professional or competent martial artists try and avoid fighting. It would be quite easy for a person to fall back and smash their head. Then you're in prison for 10+ years, probably even if you were trying to defend yourself. Got to put your ego to one side.

A punch from any martial artist that does punching is strong, on top of that they also know where to hit. In a street fight, one punch can kill a man so.

They use elbows more than punched and there elbow is straight deadly like can kill and there leg kicks are even more deadly it use to piss me off when i would play tekken with someone that did not know how ti play and the choose bruce and they hit random buttons and kick the shit out of me there was a thai fighter in the 80's that was straght deadly as fuck

It doesn't matter what discipline someone practices, whether it's Muay Thai, boxing or karate. If they learn and practice proper punching technique, any of them can have an extremely strong, or even potentially deadly punch. Of course, body type, fitness and even genetics play a role as well.

The only big takeaway is that it's a trained fighter, muay thai isn't particularly well know for their punches. That said, age, weight class, etc. Are important factors. A 15 year old girl that has been training for a year, likely not going to compare to a 28 year old man who has trained for 14 years.
On the high end, one good punch can and will end someone's life.

Not as hard as a pure boxer, but yes it is definitely hard nonetheless. Muay Thai is the most deadly martial art (besides wrestling) & most brutal. I love it & can’t wait to get back into it.
