I don't know where you're getting this information, but it's not accurate. I've been golfing over 20 years, am a member of the USGA which keeps handicaps and statistics on virtually anything "golf", but more realistic numbers are found in the National Golf Foundation.

- The average score of a non-golfer (someone who plays two or three times a year) is in excess of 108 on a fairly easy course.
- According to the NGF, only 5% of adult golfers get an average score of under 80. Breaking 80 on a par 72 course is NOT AT ALL COMMON for recreational golfers.
- According to the NGF, only 21% of golfers shoot between 80 and 89 consistently. Therefore, only 26% of all golfers break 90 consistently.

I've shot 1 over par a number of times, but broken par only once in 20 years, while being as low as a 6.1 handicap, which meant I consistently broke 80.

100 is typically considered avg. For the casual player.

I typically shoot about 70 to 80.

But a lot hinges on the course. I'm best with my irons. Based on the people I play with, mystrengrh is my range not my accuracy.😂 I get good distance but I'm less accurate so while the ball make go long it's all over the course generally.😂

It depends on how good a liar and cheat you are. But honestly you look at your handicap and the par for each hole and try to get par or under the course rating for a good game. You'll find beer helps but only to a point. You will find that your swearing will improve, especially if your game doesn't.

If someone's breaking 90 (basically, bogey average), I see them as being a very, very good golfer. Most golfers, if they were to stick with rules (not taking mulligans/do-overs, not taking gimmies, not just adding one stroke when hitting out of bounds and dropping it nearby), most golfers are not breaking 100 most rounds.
