That was one of the most fun innings ever lol 2 errors by Judge and Volpe and then Cole doesn't cover first and it costs them 5 runs in 1 inning. I'm just wondering why 2 of them got an error but it didn't show an error on the play at first even though it's a routine thing and expected for the pitcher to cover first when the first baseman has to make a more difficult play.
I don't know all the rules or how everything is scored but it just struck me as odd.

I think I asked my boyfriend this once and he said the rules pretty much are only for physical errors, not mental ones was the best way he could explain it.
Nope
Why not can you explain the rule to me? :)
A fielder is given an error if, in the judgment of the official scorer, he fails to convert an out on a play that an average fielder should have made. Shouldn't that be an easy out at first?
If anything the error would be charged to the first baseman. He could have charged and made the play unassisted. The pitcher is even with the base runner
by the way Freeman will win MVP, got it in the bag as he’s already responsible for more than half of the dodgers runs.
That play looked pretty difficult for the first basemen to me I don't think you can give him an error for that. But if he had someone on the base it would have been an out.
And that’s why no error given. You said the play looked difficult and the official scorer will differ to no call errors on those kinda infield hits. Like it or not; pitchers are not meant to be athletic enough to outrun a fast player to cover on that play routinely.
