If you've been watching football for any length of time you probably know what I'm talking about. But if you would go back and watch old games from 20-30 years ago you'll see a big difference. In the past you can see, hear and feel the impact of them going full speed delivering hard hits and really giving it their all. What I see when I look at football today especially the NFL it just looks so scripted and choreographed kind of like professional wrestling. And I'm willing to bet money the Kansas City Chiefs will become the first team ever to win three Super bowls in a row because they have fallen in love with little Patty mahomes. It's kind of a joke at this point. Does anyone else have similar thoughts?
Yes it’s rigged just like the WWE and other sports are as well, it all comes down to money and marketing and sponsorships. Sports aren’t the same like they use to be back in the day. I have witnessed a lot of bullshit in sports games to the point it’s definitely rigged to make money. Why I barely ever watch sports anymore , if I do watch it , it’s just for entertainment purposes , but I am no longer a die hard fan like I use to be cuz I know most of this bullshit. I will still root for my teams , but I know it’s fixed like the WWE , which people still support that , knowing it’s fake and set up. If the Harlem Globetrotters can do it, so can athletes as well. Money talks

Same here I used to love football like Sunday was football day 12 hours between watching all three games and the pregame and post game shows. But in recent years it's really kind of like I look at it as a box of Twinkies the NFL has packaged it nice and neat and it looks pretty but too much of it makes you sick. It's like they fell in love with Patrick mahomes cuz he replaced Tom Brady and Taylor Swift thing now it's like yeah no thanks I'll just play Tecmo Bowl on Nintendo and watch old games on YouTube

Yes. All pro sports are rigged to some degree. And they've gotten worse over time till within a few years they will be like pro wrestling. The Taylor Swift thing is totally scripted like a pro wrestling story. From day one of the season the NFL knew who would be going to the Super Bowl.

And it isn't about maximizing profits as others say. It's about aligning symbolism. In other words the matches are occult rituals.
AI Opinion
Many fans express concerns about the NFL feeling scripted or rigged, often due to controversial calls or perceived favoritism towards certain teams. Over the years, changes in rules have aimed to enhance player safety, impacting the style of play and intensity. However, the idea that the NFL is rigged isn't supported by concrete evidence. The league prioritizes unpredictability to maintain fan interest. The Kansas City Chiefs’ success is attributed to their skilled roster and strategic gameplay, rather than a predetermined script. Your perception is shared by some, though opinions vary widely among fans. 🏈

1 yI can't comment on the hits. Could that be because of new regulations for safety? Maybe they're not necessarily "fixing matches", but maybe certain calls are going Kansas Cities way. I wouldn't be surprised, because the same thing happened to CONCACAF. Teams aren't necessarily throwing matches, although the Mexico-Qatar game was questionable, but for the past decade it's blatantly obvious that the refs have been doing everything to ensure that Mexico reaches the final, because Mexico brings money.
This mainly seems to be a problem in the US. CONCACAF is the only federation where one country holds a monopoly over hosting, and this has completely ruined the sanctity of the game. The one time they didn't have either the US or Mexico in the final, almost no one showed up.
I would not be surprised at all if the same thing is happening in the US. US federation have completely ruined sports in the country, because they care too much about money.
I won't be surprised in the slightest if you end up being right, about Kansas.
And I agree. I'm so sick of hearing about Patrick Mahone and people drooling over him. Like there aren't any other good players.

Anonymous(36-45)1 yAs an F1 fan, I know a thing or two about sports being rigged to favor certain drivers, and there have been many many sporting events that do their darndest to make it look like fair play, but really it's foul play. The NFL, like most sporting leagues thrives on your money. How do they get that? By appealing to the larger story. As you've said, a three peat would just tie a bow on a story that is writing itself. Mahomes and his rise and the ongoing saga of Taylor Swift's boyfriend, which is concurrently putting cheeks in the seats. Sus calls, a little nudge nudge here and there, its all possible. Will it ever be proven, is another deal altogether.

The idea of scripting is just an illusion 🔮 fortune instead favours the skilled teams who are teams :) 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👀🥇🏆

Opinion Owner1 y@NicholasRedone Clearly, you've never looked up the history of cheating in sports! There has been everything under the sun from bribery, rigged bats and balls, lying about players ages, paying athletes to flub a game, government or team doping scandals, secret hand signals, spying on other teams locker rooms...its everywhere.
Obviously, to make it seem as real as possible, teams in football must be skilled to make it to the top otherwise cheating would look extremely obvious. This is not about the actual teams or players in sports. it's about the money behind it. As a tv producer, league big wig, investor, someone with money in the game, you stand to make money if "the story" is a good one. You can do a whole bunch to push the plot where, eventually, you get the two teams you want to have a show down at the top. You can't control everything or everyone, but you can do a lot with the "right people" doing the pushing. Producers' jobs are to make you think that it's all happening naturally, and if they are doing their jobs, its all skill and literally nothing else until inevitably, months, years, down the road, when it doesn't so much matter anymore, these scandals are unconvered.
Anonymous(36-45)1 yLook, sure Kansas City has gotten the benefit of two bad calls in the championship game that led to their victory and a few more in the divisional game that also helped them to victory on top of receiving more slightly debatable calls that also led them to more victories to secure home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
But, what you’re forgetting is that if Kansas City doesn’t go to the Super Bowl, then neither does Taylor Swift. We simply cannot have that. Football will not survive another year if Taylor Swift doesn’t show up again. If that means the refs are in on the scheme, so be it.
Now get down on your knees and pray to the great St. Mahomes that he has allowed you to live laugh and love another day.

I used to be a big time NFL football fan, I always got pumped and excited for game day. Heck in 2010 I drove from Ohio to Denver Colorado for a Broncos game. But this crap I'm seeing I'm going to say the last 7 to 8 years definitely looks rigged defenders missing tackles on purpose when they was in good position. It's like nothing but a bunch of cotton candy floss now so I don't even care to watch anymore
1 yCan't say j see a lot of American football. But if you look at proper football, in uk the game is vastly different to how it was even 20 years ago. They've changed kids football to remove heading the ball, players get yellow and red cards for barely any contact. Even rugby has even watered down in scrums and tackles. Sports have tried to remove the physical contact due to health and safety. It's arguably gone too far
11 Reply- 1 y
Not all change is good, if it's not broke don't fix it
Yes there's definitely favoritism. The 3rd & 4th down /first down call against the Bills for instance. But I feel like those refs always just run in and put the ball backwards a few inches no matter what actually happened during the play. They don't actually place the ball accurately. In todays game they could easily find a better way to spot the ball but they don't seem to care. I feel like refereeing becomes more of an issue over time is it just because I'm older and more aware of it or is it actually getting worse?
I don't even watch the NBA or NFL much anymore I'll watch the highlights of the superbowl and I watched the highlights of the conference championships but that's it. And Basketball I kinda stopped caring. If Steph could do well again I'd watch but they've been struggling for years.
I'll watch baseball because of Ohtani next season and I follow esports still but I don't know. Even in european football the refereeing is shit and has been for ever.

1 yWell there is a definite concerning trend of the NFL developing, a close business relationship with sports gambling. FanDuel etc. Having a franchise team in Las vegas. That said there is a bit of a confirmation bias against teams that win frequently and focusing on the unlikely favorable calls. Officials are human beings the make human errors. It's impossible to look back at something and not see flaws with hindsight. The NFL has systematically changed the game to a more TV friendly offense weighted game. There is no doubt. Sometimes claiming it's player safety. Which they clearly could care less about. My overall opinion is not at this time but they are pushing the limits.
00 ReplyThe NFL isn't scripted, you are suffering from confirmation bias. Whereby you are looking for bad calls that help the Chiefs and simultaneously ignoring the bad calls that hurt them. It is difficult for most people to be unbiased with sports; we all love our teams and can't accept their shortcomings, at least not at first. If you take the recent Bills at Chiefs game. Yes it was a close game and there were plays that if called differently could have changed the results. But in the first half, the Bills went for two after a touchdown right before halftime. Then again on their next touchdown, both attempts failed. Later on the Chiefs found themselves in a situation where going for two actually made sense (up by 5 in the 4th quarter before the try); and were successful. This three point difference was the difference between winning and going into overtime.

1 ySometimes you have to wonder! Many times the refs seem to be favoring one team over another with it sometimes actually the deciding factor of who wins which is really wrong. Especially very blanent mistakes that both TV and those at the Game can see the error.
00 ReplyI don't know. I never really paid attention to it. I hear a lot of black men like to get on their knees while wearing pink ribbons and that they have tranny cheerleaders. Sounds like it is gay enough to be on netflix so maybe you're onto something.

I don't think it was always rigged I just think in recent years probably like at least the last 10 to 15 years cuz you can just see a difference on the field you know the eye test. My reason for saying that it was always rigged is because if it was I would think the NFL would have at least let Dan Marino win one Super Bowl before he retired I know that was before your time but he was a great quarterback but never won a Super Bowl

@RetroReviews However since the results of matches are not predetermined or "publicly predetermined either by fans knowledge who attend like say wrestling entertainment" the sport of NFL to me is a legitimate sports because "there's no proof or public knowledge proof that fans know a predetermined result, because it seems there aren't. Now a wrestling match may be different where it's a entertainment match compared to "actual wrestling in helmets and tight onesie" on a blue match and circle 🔵 lol 😆

I was very fond of football in the late '80s the entire 90s and the early 2000s. Comparing today's football to that football back then it's like you just see the difference they just kind of look like they're trying not to get hurt and like going full speed. Definitely with the hitting so the contact is down. To me they're kind of making it look like a box of Twinkies you know the Box itself is pretty it looks nice but too much of it just makes you sick

You don't need every player to be in on it. You just need a player to make a small mistake or adjustment that he knows will help do whatever. And same with refs. It all ads up. So 95% of the players could be honestly trying and they would be at the mercy of the few involved. The flip side of this was when Jordan bet on his own team BUT he was betting they would win (ha ha ha ha). That should be allowed.
Anonymous(36-45)1 yif we go back and look, the EXACT season that all the announcers began saying "there's so much parity in the league", is the EXACT season that they started endorsing sports gambling. All of a sudden, any game could be won by any team regardless of how much they sucked. It was basically an overnight change. Every season now keeps showing how much the games are rigged/controlled/scripted now. And it's all for gambling purposes.
