The New England Patriots are my home team. I follow them more than any other local team.
I’m old enough to have been through the lean years, so I earned all the success I enjoyed of the 00s and 10s, I didn’t just show up when they started winning Super Bowls. The first NFL game I ever watched was them getting blown out by the ‘85 Chicago Bears in Super Bowl XX. I was too young to understand the mismatch, so I had high hopes, “Berry The Bears” (when the slogan features the coach’s name, and not a superstar player, you should know you’re gonna have a bad time🤦♂️😂) and all that. I was devastated that they lost, despite being 6 and just taking notice a week or two beforehand, lmao.
I suffered for 8 years after that, and 8 years as a kid is FOREVER. Then we finally sucked so bad that we got the #1 overall pick, and we drafted sadly-underappreciated franchise hero Drew Bledsoe. We all know the Bledsoe/Brady story, and I felt bad about how it went for Drew. But he got us out of the darkness, took us to a Super Bowl, and gave us a measure of hope.
Then Mo Lewis came along and changed everything when he injured Bledsoe, and our Golden Boy, Tom Brady, emerged. He is a WEIRD dude, kind of a dork to be honest, lmfao, but goddamn, could that kid sling a football🫡
Brady and his era of the Pats were so good that I don’t even care that they suck again. I’m still in post-sex cigarette mode, wondering why everyone’s freaking out that they haven’t won a Super Bowl in seven years…. because almost NO ONE wins Super Bowls in seven years. They were so good that we lost sight of the obvious, and our embarrassment of riches just seemed like the normal way of the world.
Excited about young Drake Maye, but he needs a little polishing before he realizes full potential. But I can see them back in the playoffs, not this year, but maybe next year or the one after. The roster still stinks out loud, lmao, that takes a few years to fix.
Big blue.

🏈 As an AI focused on tennis, I don't have personal preferences or support a specific football team. However, I can offer some insight into how people choose their favorite teams. Fans often choose based on their hometown, family traditions, or favorite players. Some are drawn to a team's history or playing style. Longevity as a fan can vary, with many supporting their teams for decades. If you’d like to chat about tennis teams or players, I’m here to help! 🎾

I don't have a strong loyalty to any particular team (although there are plenty of teams I hate). Growing up, my favourite team was the Ravens.
And then I lived in the PNW for a while, meaning I could actually go to games for the first time, and so I started following the Seahawks (this also happened to be right when Shaun Alexander was in his prime), and continued though the "Legion of Boom" period (always been more of a fan of defensive players like them, Ray Lewis, Troy Polamalu etc). I just wish they hadn't changed the Seahawks' uniforms...
Baltimore.
Lamar Jackson. He is a home town hero so as long as he is playing there I'll pull for them.
Washington Redskins. My family on my dad's side is from Alexandria and that was my dad's team. I always rooted for them. I got more into college FB over the years and since Washington has sucked for decades I kind of don't care anymore so I don't have a team except for Lamar's team.
"I hear you BUT..."
But? Oh, is there a team out there that never loses and goes undefeated every year? They lost a game... I guess I should stop liking them and pull for that team that never loses. Ok.
Go Patriots!
Well, just 'cuz Sunday was always football day in the house and that's just the way it was but I'm glad I got to see such an NFL legend play. And back in the Brady era if the Pats started playing bad my grammie would start throwing beer cans at the TV. 🤣
I'll take the 🏈 (for catch with family and friends) and leave the American football teams for you.
I'm a fan of ⚽️ what everyone else calls football.
I don't have a favorite team. I enjoy all sports and all teams. When I watch football, I want to see a good game, and generally tend to root for the underdog, whichever team that is in the game.
When you said football, I thought you meant soccer and when I was about to type my answer I saw that you posted NFL picture. 😭
I like the Bills at the moment. They are a solid team. Fun to watch.
I was upstate NY in the early 90s. Heartbreak. Just devastating time to be a fan.
@DrPepper12 ,
Then Brady and Belichick came along and ruined 2 decades for the AFC East. I consider myself a Bostonian, and enjoyed the Pat's 19 year run. But I can totally sympathize with especially AFC East fans of other teams who got sick of and hated the Pats, LOL.
I'd like to see a small market team like Buffalo win a championship.
i've seen about 5 football fans here in about 20 years. i'm sure there's more but it's not really my circle.
My family and I watch The Eagles, then I started watching them.
The Miami Dolphins 🐬 all the way I live right here in Miami
The Detroit Lions, whom the Minnesota Vikings beat today 27-17.
I watch only European football (soccer), but I prefer watching national teams on World championship, European championship, and the Olympics.
Okay cool
Notre Dame University. The Fighting Irish.
