The African teams have created shocks in previous World Cups, but Mexico playing in front of their own supporters will be too good for South Africa, and I predict a 1 nil win
Probably Mexico, cause South Africa is not as strong as they used to be several years ago.
Thanks for the MHO
You'd think Mexico. They are much better anyway based on my minimal soccer knowledge and the elevation of Mexico City is an advantage on top of the home crowd.
Mexico is better and it's in financial interest of FIFA that Mexico wins, so it's likely referee will help a bit if Mexico should underperform.
For this year’s big opener, I’d lean slightly toward the Chiefs 🏈
They have Mahomes, a settled system, and Andy Reid is fantastic with extra prep time. Even when they start a bit rusty on offense, their defense usually keeps them in control. As long as key players stay healthy, they’re my pick to edge out a close, high-intensity game.
Wrong sport dumbass.

Mexico, ranked 14th in FIFA, should win easily over South Africa, ranked 60th. Plus, it's a home game for Mexico, played in Mexico City. The fans will be overwhelmingly cheering for Mexico.
it was kind of an easy choice...
Viva La Mexico!
Mexico I'd think.
The one that gets the most points.
In football it’s goals, not points.
@DryGermanGuy Then, why do they give more points for one action than another? And, how was I supposed to know it was football? Looks like soccer to me.
There are no points given for any actions in a game. Points are for ranking a team in a table, three points for a won game, one point for a draw.
And „soccer“ is just a made-up word. In the real world, it’s football/futbol/Fußball.
@DryGermanGuy Okay then, I guess this is soccer.
