Tell me your thoughts

You look nice in both. The right one just looks like how you would if you had makeup on. You still look like YOU, and I think so long as that's true there's no "false advertising".
I think at the end of the day everyone KNOWS all social media posts are edited to a degree. Beauty gurus and Instagram models tamper with their photos a LOT - and they set these very unrealistic standards for beauty. So in comparison, I dont see it as that big of a deal if I (or anyone) post a picture where my/their skin is smoother and nothing else is tampered with. If a guy thinks you're going to show up exactly looking like the right pic, he's clearly naive.
If the stars can do it why not your run of the mill girl?

Wow, your phone straight up gave you a nose job, lipstick, eyeliner, eyeshadow and a haircut, also changed a light aberration into twinkling hearts and shit. My phone is old, so this is wizardry to me. Honestly, if you shop your image that much, I'm going to look at your teeth first to see if you're doing meth, if not I'm going to figure I'm getting laid from insecurity and desperation tonight if you have to mask that much.
Well, yes I agree with you that this feature of Snapchat changes too much. But I'm not sitting there and editing my face, I only have to do one click & my face turns into a better looking version. And humans naturally tend to present their more beautiful side, so it's no wonder a lot of people use filtered pictures for their social media. I think it's an issue, especially for younger people. I know of stories where a person shows a pic with a filter to a plastic surgeon and does surgery to look more like it.
Well, men can't use filters. Or do men use filters? :S We have to look naturally beautiful.
But yes, I think there's some nobility in keeping it real. If I should ever use social media, one of the things I am going to do, is to use natural photos as a kind of rebellion.
There's a sticker on a lampost in my town: 'social media is seriously harmful to your mental health'.

Filters in general are meant to be fun.
I have a good guy friend that was dating this chinese woman. She was gorgeous, thin, big boobs, model quality.
Turns out she was filtering all her pics.
Saw them at the airport and she is plain/ugly and very very overweight with small boobs..
She showed her true colors when he found out she was here illegally and only wanted to marry him to get a green card to stay...
As long as gullible boys and girls buy glossy magazines and drool over those beautifully Photoshop manipulated pictures of those fake women and men, then Snapchat filters will fulfill their purpose.
They are only imitating what costly magazines want us to believe that reality looks like.
It is an imitation of a cheating world and since our society is so totally fake, those filters are only highlighting our stupidity for those vain beliefs.
Believe it or not,
I prefer the pic on the left. I'm sure I'm not alone. We have become obsessed with masking ourselves and to conceal imperfections. To me, our imperfections are what make us unique and often, beautiful. But, if someone prefers cookie cutter people, let them have it.
You look great without the filter, but I would feel betrayed if the picture on the right was shown. Also, many girls complain about unrealistic beauty standards but they are the same who use that kind of filter and a lot of make up. They are the one setting this up for them.
I think that filters can be noticed. Personally, I find using them to be a misleading attempt of shrouding reality; and an immature way of approaching the realities of life.
Yeah, I think they're a fucking farce. I don't understand why anyone uses them, knowing that people will see the difference when they meet them IRL. It's ridiculous and pathetic in my opinion.
Nice excuse to post photos of yourself and fish for attention, I can tell how "insecure" snapchat has made you.
Can't deal with your negativity buddy, get your life right and don't harass others lol. Good luck and all the LOVE
Newsflash: online criticism isn't harassment, learn to deal or stop communicating with humans.
An assumption isn't criticism. But whatever I literally don't care, thanks for your critique. Have a nice day.
Ofc you don't care, obviously! Otherwise, why would you comment, twice? 😆 Here, you got your attention, don't act like you aren't happy.
Incredibly happy 🙏
Thank you for your attention!
All Snapchat filters are fucking retarded, all Snapchat filters have always been fucking retarded, and all Snapchat filters will continue to be fucking retarded long after today. No guy takes seriously any girl who uses them.
Nah.
If filters make someone self conscious i think that person needs to look at themselves to figure out how something like that could have such an effect on them.
Literally if she just put some makeup on she would look exactly like that filter.
Depeding upon what filter, i see no harm. Its for fun and if people want to use them who the hell cares!
It's not my place to tell people they've gone to far but I think it's fake as hell. Like WTF is wrong with people post pictures of someone that doesn't look like them at the end of the process. Same as that conturing bullshit.
I would only say, that I want to date women and not dogs. It's one thing if women are "cat"-ish but know some moderation please if you want to be taken seriously in dating.
I think you look pretty in both pictures the filter and without the filter
so i would rather a girl be honest with me.
I don't like'em. Especially not the silly ones, they frankly annoy me.
As for the pictures, I don't really notice that big a difference.
I agree. Filters used to be to compensate for camera quality, or lack of good light, but now its going too far. Its compensating for our faces too now lol.
If your goal is to look like one of Madame Tussauds' creations than no.
The picture on the left shows a beautiful girl. Filters just aren't necessary.
I like seeing the real person flaws and all, the flaws are human and beautiful and shows a non conformist nature, which I also find attractive.
I think it is naive in the extreme to accept pics online at face value.
Oh shit. I didn't know the full extent of the issue.
