How did I get almost 1000 followers in a month?

I’ve mentioned that I run a very popular Princess Luna account. I continue to post edits and fanarts as well as like, comment and share other people’s posts and dm people and my fans. I reached 7k on May 6th, it’s now May 29th and I have 7,906 followers. How is this possible? Am I getting bot followers or do people just really enjoy my posts and followed me to see more?
