What does it mean when this happens on instagram?

I would have fit this in the title if I could but on instagram when the contacts sync and you see the accounts from the contacts, if they pop up for me but I don't have that person in my contacts anymore, is it just glitching or is it possible they still have me as a contact? Cause if I deleted them, why is instagram still syncing their account on instagram as people I may know?

They may still have that history of your contacts. Deleting the app and reinstalling, then “don’t allow” the contact sync should resolve this.

I already did that but I still see the account there lol
