I was in junior high school. It was a standard desk phone. It was blue and it had a lighted dial. My uncle got it for me from one of the properties he owned. He showed me how to hook it up. In those days it was illegal to hook up your own phone. You had to rent them from the phone company. It was called "Fraudulently Obtaining Service". You could not hook up the bell because that is how the phone company found out you had an extra phone.

I've always had a phone, except for just over a year ago. There was one on the phone stand as soon as you walk in the front door and a second up in my parent's room. Then we got one for the kitchen, then the other room on the 2nd floor, then another on the third floor and a second one on the third floor, another in the basement, then one out in the back yard so we wouldn't have to run into the house at all to answer the phone and get the floor wet if we had to get out of the pool to answer it. I'm pretty sure we had one in the pool house, too.
I was like 7, my mom was never home and I was actually always home alone and that's why I got a phone for emergency calls

I always had a phone in my bedroom, but my first mobile (cell) phone I was 18 and it was a brick of a phone even though it was one of the smallest on the market at the time. They were still pretty new things back then, and there wasn't even text messages, a mobile was purely for calls.
I was a junior in high school. It was a Nokia 5110 that was a hand-me-down from my dad's business.
I got mine at age 32 and this is one that I bought from Sprint

Here it is, same phone still in use. One phone for life17 in high school. I had it cause my grandma was sick, at the time. A teacher tried to take my phone from me in class (I wasn't using it; I just had it and they thought they could take it from me), and we almost got into a fight because of it. The teacher was super-wrong, by the way, and if this wasn't 2004-2005, likely could've been sued or fired for trying to do that in the more modern era.
I was 14, got it in conformation present from my siblings - I never used it.
I couldn’t afford the ones they had when I was your age.
