My first smartphone, when it does need and appstore to count, was an Samsung galaxy S4. Around late 2013 or early 2014, So I would have been 18 at that point. Before that I did have another phone that also could have count as a smartphone I dont know which one it was though. It had wlan, an internet browser and pre installed facebook and youtube. It was a touchscreen but still had buttons for calls. That would have been a few years earlier. I sadly dont know when it was but it can't have been that much earlier. I would guess around 15.

I bought my first apple iPhone in 2012 and it cost me $600 - $800 dollars and I got my second iPhone in 2018 or later and it cost me $1400. I had jealous people harass me for buying such a costly phone but I'm on my phone for over 11 hours a day cause I use my phone to work and earn money since I find managing documents on my phone is easier than managing it on my lap top.
I held out a long time. I didn’t even break down and get a mobile phone until I was like 26 or 27, I was opposed to the idea, but I finally got enough weird looks telling girls I only had a landline when trying to give them my number that I cracked, haha. I think it was around 2014 or 2015, and I took my girlfriend’s iPhone 4 as a hand-me-down.
I was 23. I had a BlackBerry 8830 world edition. It was not touch screen but it had this "pearl" in the middle of a set of buttons which functioned as a mouse pointer of sorts depending on the app you used.
