Yes. There is a book called "The Singularity is Near" by Ray Kurtzweil. He writes about how man's knowledge doubles at a exponential rate. Soon there will be a computer with a human brain mapped onto it. Kurtzweil gives information about how the human brain already has been mapped. Soon there will be a human mind that can act at the speed and accuracy of a digital computer.
It will be possible to find cures for all diseases including aging. The fusion reactor can be developed. There will be things that are discovered that nobody has thought of yet. This will happen within 30 years.

Honestly, no.

I really like technological advancements in general but seemingly everything that actually makes it to widespread consumer use is very gimmicky, usually more in the realm of dumb or addictive phone apps meant to placate people rather than to actually improve quality of life. Stuff like that, I either don't care about or actively dislike.

Advancements in space exploration, submarines, energy- those are the types of things I actually like to look into.
