Should I upgrade my 4G phone to 5G?

I got a Motorola M phone last year and have Cricket Wireless. A few days ago the phone wasn't working when someone would call my phone would just go to voicemail even with the volume up. Even the voicemalil wouldn't synch up and I was using Internet from the house. It's working now but my nephew has 5G with T Mobile and says it's better to get 5G then 4G. I looked at Crickets phones and they are like $200 and would have to wait till next year as I believe my previous phone, I got in 2020. Even my brother has problems with his phone and wants a new phone.
