As a student, I don't have money to throw out of the window.

I cannot understand the hype for something that is so ephemeral and with a guaranteed loss in investment. I was always under the impression that if you invest money, it is to make a profit. That seems to be the base of any economy based on growth. Why would anyone want to lose money rather than to make a profit.

I personally would not recommend to anyone to invest a penny/cent into something that has no viable future and that is solely meant for speculators that don't mind to lose most of their investment.

As for thd US we have huge untapped resources. When we started fracking the Russian economy went into decline, OPEC countries lost huge oil profits and the Chinese economy suffered. Let me tell you about Saudi Arabia, it is a complete powder keg of Islamic extremism that could explode at any time, the Saudi royal family is completely dependent on oil which is keeping them in power and they require us protection. They are keeping a lid on everything but once it runs out or there is problems kaboom. Most of the other open countries are the same. Basically ant country with a US base is part of the American hegemony and any oil being sold to China America gets a cut. Iran is a different story the US has kept them down for 50 years. In 30 years there may be no oil left in the middle east at all or oil may be less important.
The US is stronger than its ever been. Basically the US has moved into all those warsaw pact countries and is moving into all those ex soviet Republics like Ukraine, Georgia etc. France has rejoined NATO, Sweden and Finland are joining NATO. Egypt is under US influence, the US controls most of Africa. All those countries in the south China Sea have allied against China. Canada, Australia does what they are told as does Britain. India is turning to the US rather than China or Russia. That's a massive increase in power since the 1990s.
