If you check someone’s location on Find My iPhone, do they get notified?

If I checked my friends location using find my iPhone, do they get a notification to say that I’ve just checked their location? It’s just that whenever I check my friends location she immediately responds to my message

You have to have access to their account. But no. . . if you get access, they don't get notified.
