Its just been a while and I was considering playing one from the beginning and seeing if i can beat the game all over again. But if the only way to do that is to delete saved data or uninstall/reinstall then i prefer not to. I’m also a bit annoyed that i was forced to do a recent system update that then cleared the history of my Forza Horizon 5. So i’m already forced to start that over, such bogus bullshit. #FeelFreeToList

+1 yI feel like you should be able to do this just by using a different profile. I'd be surprised if it wasn't possible.
But then again, I haven't played a video game in a very long time (years).010 Reply- +1 y
Thats what im sayin i haven't played a lot of stuff in so long and this update got it acting weird. I switched accs and one of my games picked up where i left off even on the other acc but it says im logged into two xbox accs so hell if i know
- +1 y
Hmm. That's weird.
Are you using an actual disc? Or is it something downloaded from the internet? - +1 y
Disc but theyre not scratched or anything. These are literally my second time trying fh4 and 5 because i hated them in the past just from a days play. But fh4 won't even load. It gets to the game homescreen then crashes but i just saw a bunch of discussion boards where that happens to a lot of people so guess i’ll never play that stupid ass game again. I’ll just try riders republic
- +1 y
Oh. Damn.
- +1 y
Ooo. That game sounds fun. I want to try it.
- +1 y
Its like Steep if you ever played it

Thanks for the MHO. (I didn't deserve it, though!)
- +1 y
Why didn't you deserve it? You were helpful and somewhat carried a convo
- +1 y
Lol because I was just talking out of my ass! 😆. There are several other people here that actually know what they're talking about.

Usually there should be an option to start a new game (with in the game )
09 Reply- +1 y
Yea this game didn't have that option
- +1 y
No i played that later on. Im talking bout my forza horizon games
- +1 y
Thats the thing, yesterday 4 and 5 made me reinstall as if i never played before and all my data from them Has been wiped. Fh3 is the one i wanted to play from scratch but i dont want to delete my saved data. I want to keep that one just to remember how far i got vs starting over
- +1 y
I did the separate peofile but it also picks up where i left off. But i notice there's something saying im logged into 2 accs rn. Im too afraid to sign out of them because i dont remember the pws lol

+1 yIn some games! You can start a new slot and play the game from the start. Or! Create a new account and start over. May i ask which xbox do you have and which games are you trying to restart the progress with?
Update! Even when games are already installed they still get patches and all that starts automatic when you start the console.
01 Reply- +1 y
Yea my games usually start automatically despite the updates but this time it made me reinstall fh4 and fh5. Fh3 did not have to be reinstalled and still has all the saved data. Its just odd because i played fh5 for ONE day 2 weeks ago and it was fine. Then here we are 2 weeks later and its needing to be reinstalled. As for fh4, i only played it once back in 2021 and didn't like it. Its been a while so i get that one needing to be reinstalled but why fh5? I played fh3 probably in 2020 or before yet its fine and saved thankfully. I tried to switch my microsoft accs to start the game new but it picked up from where i left off. Is it because it says the xbox one is logged into 2 of 3 accs? I mean i hate to logout because i dont remember those passwords 😂 i only play this stuff like one month a year
Desii. I think you can start a new game by using a new slot if that game has them. Most all our saved data gets back up in a cloud save database. So it makes it easy for us to retrieve it anytime.
But yes there is a way you can play that game from start.

Okay thank you
- +1 y
No im off of it but i made note of it. Prob won't be back on that system til next year 😂

+1 yMost games have extra save slots, a rare few require deleting save data or making a second account.
03 Reply- +1 y
Yea even the new account didn't change it for me. I think it requires deleting saved data which i won't do
- +1 y
This is why consoles were better without accounts, wanna start over without losing your save? Just pop in a different memory card.
- +1 y
I know thats right
In some games that's actually an option built in. "New game plus"
01 Reply- +1 y
Yea i didn't see that in forza horizon games
+1 yI’ve honestly always thought that there was. I don’t know. I’ve only played Xbox a few times.

+1 yI think the only way is to buy a new system which is pricey. Also I think you can just open a new slot or create a new account.
01 Reply- +1 y
I only play one month a year so i def won't buy a new system but thanks
+1 yThat's a easy answer you should just be able to start a new game & make a new save slot for the game.
So you're not overwriteing the old save05 Reply- +1 y
Hmm okay. Thanks
- +1 y
welcome let me know how it works out.
- +1 y
@DizzyDesii what xbox model do you have maybe we can play online some times
- +1 y
I dont play online
- +1 y
ok my bad if i overstepped just thought i would be fun
Does Xbox still have avatars that game data saves to? If so, you could make another one & play using that avatar rather than the one you already have saved data on.
01 Reply- +1 y
I switched profiles and it carried over. I don't know if thats the same as the avatae bt ig i could try that
+1 yNever played that game before but most games I played had the option of opening a new slot.
01 Reply- +1 y
I’ll check that
+1 yI have never owned an Xbox. Just playstation and Nintendo

- +1 y
I've never had a ps1 and i didn't play a n64 til 2002 lol. I was like 7 and it was my first game system

I tried finding old consoles so I found a Sega Genesis, the first Gameboy and the nes.
- +1 y

- +1 y

I dont even think i used the ps3 for games. I just watched bluray movies on it 🤣😭 i wonder would the ps2 work if i decided to play gta 3. Its been over a decade for sure but we got 3 ps2 (slim black, thick black, slim gray). Hmm im tempted
- +1 y
Oh wait i forgot gta V was on ps3 so there's that and then i did buy the gta3 and gta sa that went in it too. Damn its been forever 🤣
- +1 y
I used to have the slim gray ps2 would just keep it on whenever I left home because I was playing NBA Live 2003 or sometimes the first Sly Cooper. I have the thick black one but don’t play it. I don’t play the ps4 that much nowadays. It’ll probably work 🤣
- +1 y

I did and it literally picked up where i left off. I’ve never seen that happen before this latest update. I’ll message you

I did and it oddly carried over the same saved data. It didn't do that on my xbox 360 but it did it on the xbox one
+1 yI dunno. i never had an Xbox.
00 ReplyYes. Get a new Xbox.
01 Reply- +1 y
